Oprah Winfrey’s Next Chapter is starting to look a lot like her old one. OWN just announced that Winfrey will do the type of topical interview with the most sought-after celebrities of the moment that were the staple of her daytime syndicated show. An interview with Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina, her sister-in-law and manager Patricia Houston and Whitney’s brother Gary Houston will air as a special episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter on Sunday March 11. It will be preceded by a rerun of Winfrey’s interview with Houston on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

A mistake. They should have waited a while. And then done something with NBC or ABC. Brian Williams. Matt Lauer. Katie Couric. Diane Sawyer. Anderson Cooper on “60 Minutes” would have been good too. All better choices. That Oprah. Whitney “dropped the body.” Oprah swoops in for ratings. I hope all the Neilsen viewers tune in. That’s allowed, isn’t it? Sorry. My eight million Tweet follower bad. Everybody makes mistakes now and then. Silly me. I sincerely apologize for my reckless take-no-prisoners presumption and disingenuous narcissism masquerading as transparent Nutbush City Limits fake humility.
Is she paying them? Now that would be a story.
go with what works..that worked out tremendously for her to the fact of becoming the first Black women to reach a billion dollars
Sample question: “So tell me how it felt when I told all of my minions to turn the channel on your mamas grammy funeral?”…
Oprah’s Next Chapter should be 11!
by the time this airs, hardly anyone will care. kinda sucks not having a daily talk show huh oprah?
This will not save your colossal, ego-driven blunder.
Oprah who? Whitney what?
I forget.
It seems pretty clear the OWN is going nowhere without a re-boot of “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”
Way too soon. Oprah, GO AWAY!
Really, Oprah?? You should be ashamed of yourself. Why approach the family for an interview so soon after her death? Tacky and just plain heartless.

In the case of the above –the answer is ‘NO’.
——KEEP watchin’ that ‘tell-a–vision’ kiddies,
and before you know it —you won’t either.
I agree that some of Oprah’s programming and staffing choices at OWN have been deplorable, downright ridiculous. I am with you that just because a person can produce daytime TV doesn’t automatically mean they can program a network – even create and develop innovative television shows. Oprah’s assumption that her team can also run a network is also ridiculous. I agree that Oprah and Discovery bit off WAY MORE than they can chew – arrogantly assuming that she and her current team could easily pull this network off… I’m with you on all that, but I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH SOME OF THE COMMENTS ABOVE!!!
If Barbara Walters, Diane Sawyer, Katie Couric, Anderson Cooper or any other big name personality had landed this interview, your reaction would’ve been to congratulate them – or at least to not hurl insults at them. EVERYBODY wants this interview, and Oprah got it. That’s reason to celebrate, not reason to throw stones. The family is obviously ready to talk, otherwise they wouldn’t have agreed to do the interview and they CHOSE Oprah — she’s not forcing them to do this — they’re obviously ready. I say kudos to her. I say it’s a smart move for her to go back to doing what she does best… I’m all for pointing out when she makes mistakes – that’s fair – but it’s also only fair to congratulate when something good happens… and this is one of those times. That said, GROW UP people – you can be critical, but at least be fair – stop letting your personal feelings get in the way of what is actually a great thing for Oprah and OWN.
OPRAH, IT’S TO SOON TO INTERVIEW WHITNEY’S DAUGHTER.
SHE IS STILL GOING THROUGH A LOT WITH THE LOST OF HER MOTHER .
LET’S KEEP HER IN PRAYER AND THE FAMILY.
I, persnally, think that Oprah is the best choice here to interview Whitneys daughter, Bobbi. Whitney and Oprah were close..and she was one of the few, that received a welcome to Whitneys funeral..and Yes, I agree, it is abit soon..but, If Bobbi is ready to talk..then, that is her choice..and I have found, in talking…about ones grief..actually helps to release it somewhat..We all have our way of grieving..give Bobbi..hers!…
