Andy Burg has imagined Huck as a period action drama about the continuing adventures of Huck Finn, Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher. In this latest version of Mark Twain’s legendary characters, however, the trio are now hot and in their late 20s. Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark are producing, with Matt Lopez and Liz Raposo is the executive in charge at Paramount. The studio bought Burg’s supernatural action script Hellified a few years back. Recently Paramount purchased Enzo Mileti and Scott Wilson spec, Swindle, starring Megan Fox and Zoe Saldana. The actresses will also produce that project with Moneyball producer Michael De Luca. Andy Burg is managed by Brucks Entertainment. Burg and Lopez are represented by ICM.

Vomit.
Jeremy Garelick and Aaron Cooley actually went out with a similar project a year ago; I read both and the Garelick/Cooley script was much stronger. Huh. Gues that’s what happens when you have Peter Chernin attached to produce (Fox must have thought this script sucked if they didn’t buy it). Someone should really buy the Garelick script and beat this project out of the gate.
Fox thought this script was terrible MULTIPLE times. obviously… burg redefines the word “hack.”
good call. and if Fox thought it was bad then it must really suck…
This is why people hate Hollywood.
PRODUCER: “Hey, I want to make “Grapes of Wrath”!”
STUDIO: “Are you f’in kidding me? Nobody wants to see that.”
PRODUCER: “What if I make the characters hot and in their late 20s?”
STUDIO: “Here’s $60 million dollars!”
Bingo!
I read this when it went out and it’s actually pretty clever.
The role of N-Word Jim will be played by Jay Hernandez to reach a broader audience.
The script is surprisingly really good.
No it’s not. It’s really, really not. It’s boardline horrible.
Andy Burg is on fire! love this script. Hear its fast tracked.
Thanks, Andy!
Andy, is that you?
Andy Burg rocks at script writing and yoga!
andy, is that you? who else would post that?
It would take a hell of a lot of convincing to want to see this movie.
Looking forward to the sequel, “The Incredible Huck” starring Ed Norton.
