There was a slew of ratings declines on the second night of daylight savings time. The clock change was probably at least partially responsible for The Voice‘s (5.1/14) 18% ratings drop from last week to a season low as in both cases the NBC series faced CBS reruns. But it can’t be blamed for the finale of ABC’s The Bachelor (2.9/8) falling 36% from last year to its lowest-rated closer ever — the reality series’ finale last year also aired on the second night of daylight savings time. The losses should probably be pinned on The Voice as new competition for The Bachelor from 8-10 PM. At 10 PM, The Bachelor: After The Rose special (3.3/8) also was down sharply from last year, by 30%. It aired against NBC’s Smash (2.4/6), which gave up the ratings gains from last week, down 11% to its ratings levels from two weeks ago. After a House repeat, a new Alcatraz (1.6/4) was down 11% from last week when Fox aired back-to-back originals of the midseason time-travel drama.

I think Ben being the most boring and unattractive Bachelor ever helped the ratings collapse — I don’t think the audience was invested in what happened to that schlubby houseplant.
I agree completely, even a hair cut, which would have been an improvement, probably wouldn’t had help the bachelor this season.
aside from the fact this beyond fake reality show has worn out its welcome, it now is having to battle leaks and gossip. the ‘winner’ had already been revealed online months ago. sure, they might have gotten it wrong, but too many photos and inside info are starting to get out and spoiling the fairy tale for those who get off watching fake true love develop between people who really like the idea of being on television.
Wonder if dwts will hurt voice which seems overrated..episode was boring…lots of prod manipulation.& u dont get to bond with contestants who perform once a month; makes me appreciate idol

FOX needs help. They don’t give a show time to develop a fan base before they pull the plug. Terra Nova held promise, but FOX blew it.

ABC seriously needs to put this show to pasture once and for all. This is going to end up like any other Bachelor franchise and it will result in a break-up between these two clowns. Enough of this show already.
I totally agree. This show is awful in every sense of the word. There is nothing good about it. Everytime I see it’s on my stomach turns. Absolutely dumbing down our society.
