The doc will be directed by Brett Morgen and distributed by Eagle Rock Entertainment in September as part of the Rolling Stones’ 50th anniversary celebrations. The Stones will executive produce the project; Victoria Pearman is producer and it’s co-produced by Morgan Neville. The doc traces traces the evolution of the Rolling Stones from its beginnings in 1963 and has exclusive access to the band on the road, in the studio and behind the scenes. “For anyone who wants to experience the band, this is the film that will defy convention and create a sonic tapestry to transport viewers into the world of the Rolling Stones,” said Morgen, who was nominated for an Oscar for the doc On The Ropes and also directed Chicago 10 and The Kid Stays In The Picture. The Stones are no strangers to doc treatments, most recently being featured in Martin Scorsese’s 2008 feature Shine A Light. Morgen is repped by WME and Anonymous Content.

There has been no greater band than the Stones…
Not The Beatles, not Zeppelin or even Floyd… none.
Challengers, do step up and make your cases!
You want a good show, go see Springsteen and the E Street Band. Yes, it’s a band, not a solo act.
most recently being featured in STONES IN EXILE is more like it. Awesome doc!
“Marley” is the real deal!
The Stones are completely over rated, the Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers and several others sold more tickets, played real shows not one two hour predictable music. Yeah Brown Sugar, Honky Tonk Women, Under Cover etc are great songs but as a band……boring
you obviously have no idea what you’re talking about if you list ‘under cover’ as one of the stones great songs. maybe listen to them a bit more before making such a ridiculous statement.
You are crazy as hell.
There’s nothing like a three hour jam session with no cohesion and 50,000 fans that smell like ass — money well spent!
The Beatles. Period.
No other band comes close.
There is no case to be made.
The music speaks for itself.
The Beatles have some classic tunes but they are a minor band… You can basically skip the first four records.
Yes, if you want to miss out on them.
Get a real director to make this doc.
Brett Morgen is a sham
