EXCLUSIVE: Rosemarie DeWitt will play the female lead in Promised Land, the Focus Features/Participant Media film that Gus Van Sant will direct with Matt Damon and John Krasinski starring. Damon and Krasinski wrote the script. The film, which got a first draft from Dave Eggers when its title was Gold Mist, is a Capraesque tale in which Damon and Krasinski play rival corporate executives. Damon plays a sales executive who arrives in a small town only to have his whole life called into question. Chris Moore is producing.
DeWitt starred with Emily Blunt in Your Sister’s Sister, which gets released in June, and Neighborhood Watch, which will be released in July. She’s repped by ICM and Troy Nankin.

It is going to take a lot for Van Sant and Damon to surpass Good Will Hunting. What an incredible film!
GVS was a great director at one time. Unfortunately that time has passed. And the film that put him on the map – Malanoche was really really disgusting & pervy.
However, that said, MYPI and DC were great movies but after that he really lost his muse.
Matt Damon otoh has always been an awful wooden actor.
Sounds like a huge Dud! Burp. Fart. Bang. Pfff.
Ah man I love DeWitt. Too bad this movie sounds terrible. Meh, I guess I’ll watch it anyway.
