Yesterday, News Corp COO Chase Carey released a statement regarding Monday night’s BBC Panorama exposé that claimed a company News Corp has controlled illegally helped to undermine Rupert Murdoch’s business rivals. Carey said the show “presented manipulated and mischaracterized emails to produce unfair and baseless accusations.” Today, Murdoch himself has spoken up via Twitter. Old Rupert has built up a whole lot of schadenfreude over the years. Hilarious his screed against “right-wingers” when his own Fox News keeps the mouth-breathers ginned-up day in, day out.
Also ironic his little slam on “monopolies” when he owns a bunch of media properties, and would own more if not for a) anti-trust laws in the USA and b) this whole hacking scandal (he was about to buy B Sky B in the UK before all this jumped off).
Just saw a Frontline episode on Rupert/News Corp. I personally hope they go down in flames. And take Roger Ailes with you.
