New Academy of Television Arts & Sciences chairman and CEO Bruce Rosenblum has named writer-producer Ryan Murphy (Glee, American Horror Story) as his sixth and final Executive Committee appointee, completing a group of industry heavy-hitters from different areas of TV. Murphy, who will serve a one-year term, joins previously appointed Gail Berman, Jason Kilar, Steven Lafferty, Steve Mosko and Dana Walden. Additionally, Rosenblum’s Warner Bros cohort, WBTV president Peter Roth, has been tapped to chair the Hall of Fame Committee for 2012 after serving on the committee last year. He has appointed to the committee Hall of Fame inductees Marcy Carsey and Fred Silverman as well as Bonnie Hammer, Chairman, NBCU Cable Entertainment and Cable Studios; Rick Rosen, Head of Television at WME; and Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment.

Now that Murphy got Rosenbloom to change the rules for entry for American Horror Story as a mini-series (when it’s clearly a series) he’s onboard the Rosenbloom train. He will fit squarely in his pocket.
Looking for an announcement soon that has Ryan Murphy under an overall at Warner Brothers Television and execs from WBTV running every part of the Academy.
I give up.
He will be really good in the first meeting then he will fall apart through the year and eventually know one will be paying attention to him…just like his TV shows.
I think the reign of Rosenblum is heading towards early disaster. He has all the subtlety of a Washington lobbyist.
Of all the showrunners in town this is who he picks? The guy he just changed the rules for so his series could qualify as a mini-series?
This is very suspect.
