And I wanted to laugh but that sketch was aggressively unfunny. A tour de force of unfunny. I painted a mural in honor of fallen firemen in a junior high’s cafeteria in south jersey that was funnier.
fret not though. you are funny.
When was the last time SNL was funny? Every now and then they hit on a funny skit that isn’t ruined by beating it to death and the annoyance of the obvious cue card reading.
the only problem I see is that making fun of that AM radio guy is a redundant exercise because the original cannot be improved in terms of being a pathetic joke. in fact, the original would only be so lucky to be as ‘fat’, his voice less of a fat guy voice who can’t breathe, and his theatrics so mellow as in this sketch.
RUSH = RELEVANT and ENTERTAINING
snl = NOT
you said it. Rush adds humor and SNL hasn’t been funny for 30+ yrs.
Try as they might, but lefties just can’t kill Rush. They’re just going to have to live with him or ignore him. Kinda like the right-wingnuts have to live with Bill Maher. Two peas in a pod.
Just so bad. And seriously, that’s the best performer they’ve got to “impersonate” Limbaugh?! Middle school level ATTEMPT at comedy.
That opening was absolutely painful to watch. An over-the-top liberal message delivered via terrible acting and writing (yes, Limbaugh is an idiot, but when his equal and opposite idiot Bill Maher gets a pass – we just can’t take it seriously).
We get it, Lorne Michaels is a liberal and will have his high school performers shilling for the left (and a paycheck) until election day. But every opening Lorne? It’s just too predictable and yawn inducing.
As we sadly found out a few weeks ago with Billy Crystal, time has passed by SNL too. Either clean house and start anew, or simply retire the show.
It’s interesting to see how many social media shills the Republicans mobilized to try to counter the effect of one SNL sketch.
Love the false equivalence from those on the right, constantly comparing Limbaugh to Maher. Rush, who went on a 3 day tirade against a private citizen, vs. Maher who made a single comment and lost his job for it.
Yep, totally the same. In wingnuttia.
What Rush said was bad, but the real issue here is two fold: First, sponsors pulling their ads from his show just contributes further to losing free speech in our Country. Second, with all the problems our Country is currently facing, to have the President enter into this fray is unbelievable.
