EXCLUSIVE: TBS has greenlighted Naked Truth, a panel talk show hosted by comedian Tom Papa (The Marriage Ref) and produced by late-night guru Robert Morton (Late Show With David Letterman). On the show, Papa sits at a desk with three other comedians who form a panel to discuss and riff on topics in the zeitgeist, stories big and small, all with a comedic twist. “We thought it would be fun to have comedians help us sort through the avalanche of information falling on us every day and help expose what’s wrong with everything,” Papa said. He is executive producing the project with Morton and 3 Arts Entertainment’s Dave Becky and Josh Lieberman. This marks Morton’s return to TBS, where he recently served as executive producer on Lopez Tonight. Papa and Morton are with ICM.

Dreadful, unoriginal idea that will find no audience. There’s no shortage of comedians giving “their take” on the day. Speaking as a producer (who votes Democratic) The only underserved niche in this area might be to go conservative right, and counter-program Stewart and Colbert… But you’d be hard pressed to find three funny conservative comedians.
These shows are host and comedian driven. Tom’s an A-list stand up with great sensibilities and funny friends. I will be watching.
