‘The Avengers’ To Close Tribeca Festival

• Indie folks will probably be up in arms about this.

  But as long as no “real” festival film gets bumped for The Avengers, it can only bring attention to Tribecca. The question is whether it’s the type of attention the indie filmmakers want.

• There’s something about the way Avengers is shot that makes it look like a McDonald’s commercial–even moreso than the other Marvel Studios films. On a purely technical
  level, it looks pretty shabby. As for Joss’ writing? If this script was truly great, it would have leaked by now…I’m
  bracing for Dollhouse-level writing.
