The April 4 re-release of James Cameron‘s billion-dollar film Titanic in 3-D will get a day-and-date release in IMAX 3D in 79 domestic IMAX-equipped theatres in the US and 63 foreign markets, with plans to increase that international total to 70, IMAX announced today. The 20th Century Fox/Paramount Pictures production is being released in 3-D but non-IMAX theaters on April 4 as well. Originally released Dec. 19, 1997, Titanic has grossed $1.8 billion so far. The RMS Titanic sank April 15, 1912, on its maiden voyage.

I really wish Universal would come to their senses and move American Reunion to August where every american pie has opened and has set records — not only will it be up against The titanic but also April is a horrible month for teen comedies as it’s target audience is dealing with prom, graduation, finals, parties, etc. Have they learned nothing from scream 4?!
I’ve seen the 3-D trailer for Titanic; it blew my mind how Cameron approached adding depth, especially the dining table scene projected far out of the screen; I can’t wait
I suspect the 3-D version of “Titanic” being released April 4th is no accident, so that it is out in time for the centennial of the disaster.
It’s the same reason ABC-TV will carry a new “Titanic” miniseries on the weekend of April 14th-15th, again to coincide with the anniversary.
Sorry for being so snarky, but, thank you, Captain Obvious.
well, why else would they release it again?
is the release going to be a one day thing i sure hope not me n my older sis r goin 2 see it on the 14th if its still in theatres
