TNT has released a new promo image for its new Dallas series. It features the cast of the reboot in a shower room, evoking the classic scene from the original series, in which Bobby Ewing, after being dead for a season, reappeared alive in the shower to reveal that the entire season had been a dream. For those who don’t get the reference, TNT’s promo department has added a tagline, “They’re Back. And No, You’re Not Dreaming.” Note the strategic placement of the younger stars in the front line of the risque shoot, while Patrick Duffy’s pose is almost identical to that from the original scene.

BARF!
I understand the idea, but the execution doesn’t work. Here’s a tip TNT, if you have a show where most of the characters related, don’t put them in the shower together.
“characters are related”
EXACTLY!! I’m shocked that this ad was made.
I wonder how many of the older, original cast members, had their head Photoshop’d on to younger bodies. I’m guessing all of them. Looks pretty cheap.
The entire photo looks like a photoshoped mess. I’m excited for this series – but I hope this isn’t an indication of the production values.
Yay! Jesse Metcalfe! Wait, sorry, I mean the opposite of “yay”. Never cared for him as an actor… Still, his style might be suited to melodrama like this.
Jordana Brewster looks damned skeletal.
Potential new viewers won’t get it and Dallas’ hardcore fans don’t necessarily want to be reminded of that jump-the-shark moment.
If they re-do Dynasty next will they have ads with the new cast lying on a church floor in a pool of blood saying no, we won’t go back to Moldavia?
They don’t need the abs. They already had the gay audience when they brought Sue Ellen back.
My 13 year old sister could have done a better photoshop job….wow.
Don’t knock Linda Gray……………….for a woman who is 71 she does in fact look way younger.
I don’t think they pull off the joke but hey, it was still worth a chuckle for trying.
They paid all that money to get Mark Seliger to shoot their campaign and they gave free post-production reign to a first-year community college design student.
Meow. Get a life haters.
You all sound SO nasty and mean. It’s a tv soap opera, the kind that many people love watching just for fun; you expecting high art in the ads or camp?
I expect competancy.
Looks cool by me…I’ll be tuning in!!!
I ALWAYS wondered what Larry Hagman looked like these days naked.
I guess this is going to be as close as I will ever get to knowing.
I’ll be watching, but only for Josh Henderson and Jesse Metcalfe, and only if they’re sans shirts frequently.
At least J.R. Ewing and I have something in common: we both wear our cowboy hats in the shower.
This is not a reboot. Just like The CW’s ’90210′ is not a reboot. Please learn what the term means. kthanks!
I love the bitterness this type of stuff brings out in unhappy pathetic wannabes. Be happy with your Barrista jobs, kids.
If you’re going to pay all that money (which I’m sure they did) to Mark Seliger, why not let it look like a Seliger photo? It looks like it was taken by a unit photographer.
Will be watching but still a bit miffed that they are ignoring the TV movies. Seems like we are asked to live through another dream..lol
What’s the deal with the Hollwood hate for this ad? It’s nothing out of the ordinary and lots of people will love it. DALLAS has a lot of fans going into the show…maybe it’s jealousy. Typical Hollywood behavior.
