Banshee, Cinemax’s upcoming action drama series executive produced by Alan Ball, has cast its first 3 regulars: Matt Servitto (Harry’s Law), Trieste Dunn and Daniel Ross Owens. The 10-episode series, written by authors Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler, centers on an ex-convict and master thief who assumes the identity of the sheriff of Banshee, PA, where he continues his criminal activities even as he’s being hunted by the shadowy gangsters he had betrayed years earlier. Servitto will play Brock Lotus, the longest-serving deputy in the Banshee sheriff’s department. Dunn will play Siobhan Kelly, a spitfire female deputy in the sheriff’s department. Owens will play Mayor Dan Kendall, the young, idealistic mayor of Banshee. Greg Yaitanes (House) is directing the first episode of the series, which starts shooting this spring on location in and around Charlotte, North Carolina for a 2013 premiere. Ball, Tropper, Schickler, Yaitanes and Peter Macdissi are executive producing. Ball will be juggling production of both Banshee and his HBO vampire drama True Blood. Earlier this week, HBO confirmed that Ball will step down as showrunner of True Blood after the upcoming fifth season.

Can’t wait to see who else they cast. Josh Holloway would be perfect in the lead role.
Trieste Kell Dunn! I love her in Cold Weather and The New Year. Can’t wait to see the show. Good Casting Cinemax.
I came to this site because of an article in my local paper about the series being shot in my hometown of Mooresville NC. Yet, your site insteds, says Charlotte and surrounding area. Much like Showtime does with its series, Homeland.
Im just trying to give recognition to the actual towns insted of lumping us all in with Charlotte…Mooresville is a great place to live with an eclectic and vibrant lifestyle. Add in a beautiful lake and Nascar’s home, and its no wonder Hollywood has come a’callin’.. We welcome you all..
Woddy, that’s what Mooresville is – “Charlotte area”. We can’t escape it. But you & I know that the Banshee County Sheriff’s Office is right behind the train station on Broad. Race City rules!
Just saw this being shot in an area called Gastonia about 10 miles west of Charlotte. Was surprised at such a huge production in the middle of a tiny street.
Gastonia is more than an area and there have several movies shot around town. They are filming now at or around the Wix filters plant on East Ozark Ave. Before you ask what is WIX filters are, they were the largest manufacturer of oil,air and fuel filters in the world.
They made them for all the big name companies.
They are here in Charlotte now filming, may2012
this was sent to all tenants of Three Wells Fargo.
Levine Avenue of the Arts between Church Street and Tryon Street will be closed from Monday, April 30 to Wednesday, May 2 as a result of HBO Films working in the area. According to the Charlotte Department of Transportation, Tryon Street and Church Street, between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Stonewall Street, will also close in the late evening from approximately 9pm to 4am during the days of filming.
Today 6/4/12 they are in Monroe, NC! A great place to live!

Yeah they were in monroe today and i couldnt even get to Oasis to get a hot dog! Get off my corner lol!!
Believe it or not, they will actually be filming in the tiny, now defunct mill village of Spencer Mtn! Wow.
Shooting in uptown today at the corner of 3rd and south tryon. Woo-hoo!
….and I have to look and hope for a park beyond my usual parking because they are shooting at my work site – Roscoe Correctional Facility !! We are in SC – 100 miles away from Charlotte !
Im an extra in this today
any help on the address of casting offices in the charlotte area would be nice…
Alan ball screwed up true blood so bad. He’ll probable do the same to this show.
