EXCLUSIVE: Veteran literary agent Aaron Hart is joining Verve, the agency just announced to its staff. Hart, who started at WMA, was most recently in ICM’s motion picture lit department. The partners confirmed the hiring and gave me this statement: “We are incredibly excited to have Aaron Hart joining our ranks. He is an experienced & well-respected agent with excellent taste. We look forward to him being a big part of our future success.”
Hart is the second agent to move to Verve in 2012, joining Amy Retzinger, who joined in January.

Aaron is a great guy. Verve is lucky to have him, good taste, hard working. Good hire.
Nice hire. Will be a great fit there. Another young, hungry agent with great taste.
Upgrade for Aaron Hart. Much better fit for him. That guy is great.
agreed. his personality is also a better fit for the Verve guys.
“The Game is The Game” – Way to go Hart!!!
Great hire for Verve and Hart. Those guys are great, and Aaron is a fantastic addition. Congrats to all!
That’s the move. Congratulations, Aaron Hart!!!
Some of my favorite people getting into business together. Gotta love it!
Hart is one of the good guys, and will thrive at Verve. Boom goes the dynamite.
This is an excellent move – ICM has fallen apart – In 2 years, Verve has shot straight up the list. Love what they’re doing and Aaron will be a great fit!
The real question is: when do the TALENT agents start defecting to Verve. Quite probably soon.
Hart is the best. He is a perfect fit for Verve…and they are lucky to get him. I predict big things with this hire! and that Verve is bigger than ICM in five years.
AWESOME! GO HART!
Couldn’t think of a better match. So happy for Aaron and for Verve. They will both do very well by each other.
This is a major “get” for Verve. Aaron is one of the top young lit agents out there.
Loved Verve before…love them even more now.
Couldn’t have happened to a better guy! Congrats Hart and VERVE! ICM needs to take a hard look in the mirror and figure out what kind of company it really wants to be…
Great hire…Aaron Hart is an awesome agent!
come on with this post. who cares
when you see nothing but positive comments, you know someone is posting repeatedly. My dealings with Hart were disappointing. I don’t think he has an eye for material, I find his personality grating and obnoxious, and I question his stability and his people skills. In short, he is not a good agent. He is not a good man. I don’t know who’s posting all this love, but it’s either him or someonepaid to do so.
Agreed. He’s extremely obnoxious. A caricature of an agent.
this might be the greatest post i’ve ever read on this site.
Agreed — was a client in the past and he did zero work in between the multiple specs I gave him. One of those agents who works for the spec — not the client’s overall career. Was brusque and obnoxious on the phone in a way that did not foster a positive client/agent relationship. Only emails he returned were the ones that had new specs attached. He actually blew off one spec so I went out and sold it for six figures after submitting it myself through personal contacts. I’ve met clients who love him, so I guess maybe it was just me, but damn — Don’t take on a client if you’re not interested in their career.
It’s not just you. The last 5 or 6 posts were spot on. I found him to be an obnoxious a-hole. If he was great this wouldn’t be his third agency in three years.
Yes. Yes. Yes. Hart in a nutshell.
is this where we were all told to post?
You were late and so… you’re fired.
darn. And I liked working for the most ironically titled agency ever. All we had to do was sit around and post glowing things on DHD every day about our non-moves. Going to be hard going back to a real job now. Well at least my parents won’t think I work at a shampoo maker anymore.
Hmmmm…. is Verve REALLY all that great, or is it the same person making positive posts under different names. Last I heard, Verve is extremely unorganized and unprofessional, and their biggest lit client jumped ship recently.
Who jumped?
This is hilarious. Verve will never be as big as ICM. Who are they kiddin! HaHa. Sure, ICM is stumbling here and there, but it will take at least a decade for Verve to reach a tenth of ICM’s status.
Oh shut up Talley. Hart is decent guy with great taste. Great hire, Verve.
hart + sevicer. cant sign + go get a job at uta where noone signs. just sevice the d listers. bad move verve. rule number 2…never hire just because hes a friend from mailroom. rule number 1….hire dan aloni. signed…JC Carpenter
Aaron Hart is the Dubai of his generation. I wish him and the Duke Blue Devils all the best.
WME (fired) + ICM (fired) = Verve (will be fired eventually)
