The current eight-episode third season of the ABC Family series Make It Or Break It will be its last. The writing has pretty much been on the wall for the gymnastics drama, which first faced cancellation last summer following its second 20-episode season, which was down from the 20-epsiode Season 1. But last September, the network renewed the series for eight episodes “in time to ignite Olympic fever,” as ABC Family president Michael Riley put it. The timing does make sense as the premise of the series was following several elite female teen gymnasts dreaming of competing at the upcoming summer 2012 Olympics in London. The current abbreviated third season chronicles the final leg of the race to the Olympics, with the May 14 finale revealing who of the three girls will make the U.S. team for the games. ABC Family this week began promoting the May 14 closer as the series finale, with Make It Or Break It creator Holly Sorenson chiming in on Twitter. “We are, very sadly, three weeks away from the series finale of MIOBI,” she wrote Monday. ABC Family has three new series on tap for this summer: drama Bunheads, comedy Baby Daddy and docuseries Beverly Hills Nannies.

It’s ridiculous to cancel the show right before the girls go to the Olympics-they’ve been talking about it for htree whole seasons! I sincerely hope that ABC comes to their senses at lets the show finish with the girls achieving their dreams.

This is a great show! Abc family takes off every quality show ! For example Lincoln heights! Yet they keep shows like Joey& Melissa. Don’t get me wrong I live Melissa Joan hart but this is a great show for teen girls. A lot of people were mad the lead Emily was kicked off but it doesn’t mean the show should be cancelled forever. I WILL CONTINUE TO EMAIL ABC FAMILY TO TRY AND GET MAKE IT IR BREAK IT ANOTHER SEASON!

This is really depressing. This is the show I look forward to every Monday night. I’m 17 years old, and you people at abcFamily obviously have no idea what you’re doing. My friends talk about this show all the time…in fact, one day we had a substitute teacher, and she put this show on for us to watch! This is so wrong of you guys to do, to end it right when they are about to reach their dreams! They made it all this way, you showed all they went through to make it this far, but you won’t show what will happen when they get there. I’d much rather see Secret Life end then the one show where most of the drama is low key, and the day to day issues are so relatable. I’m really sad to see it go…I really hope you guys get some sense and change your minds.

I love this show,its one of my favorites , i look foward to monday nights, soooo sad to see it be canceled, seems like alot of people like, definatley a bad move for ABC to cancel this show !!!
I am very depressed to know that I have watched this show for 3 years just for the producers to end the show by only telling us who is going to make it on the Olympic team? Why not allow your LOYAL fans the enjoyment of actually watching them compete and finding out who wins a gold? This would’ve been a better way to end it. I think ABC FAMILY is losing a lot of fans because of this decision I know I definitely will be one of them! Its sad to see a wonderful tv channel do this to their fans!
I couldnt agree more. I am so sad they ended it this way. And I DVR’d it and didnt hear it was the Show Finale untill I got online to see when the next new episode was on. I was so sad when I read it was canceled I cried!

I think ABC Family is making a tremendous mistake! I agree with many of the comments that they are willing to keep producing a show like The Secret Life of An American Teenager and not Make It Or Break It. Think about what POSITIVE influences the first show brought compared to the second. Make It Or Break It wins by a land slide. Decisions like this is what’s guiding children to grow up as fast as they are! It’s preposterous! If they were to cancel after Season Three they should have at least extended the episodes and tied up all the endings. I understand that many writers leave some parts out so that if the show ever gets picked up again there is still stuff to write about, but common, it’s ABC. They wont admit to their mistake and wont sell the show because they don’t want to be proven wrong. IDIOTS!

Dear ABC Family, PLEASE RECONSIDER bringing back Make It or Break It I am so dissappointed that you decided to end the series before I could find out who wins the gold at the Olympics. I have loved the show ever since I started watching it and this was a positive show with positive role models!! I watch Secret Teen but the girls on there are not at all role models. Please bring the show back!!
I realize that this show has to end at some point, but I’m extremely disappointed they won’t be showing the Olympics. Isn’t this the whole point of the show? To see who wins olympic gold? Poor decision on ABC family’s part
People should start a petition against this. Everyone should pledge not to watch the ABCs shows that replace it. I cried after the finale, because I felt like all the characters were my family. Maybe they could make the episodes half an hour, same with another show, which benefits them by giving double air-time, a chance for new shows and keep us happy and drag their shows out longer, which they LOVE to do. (*cough cough* Pretty Little Liars anyone?)
I LOVED this show and I have no idea why it is ending and Secret life is still going. Dont get me wrong, I like secret life, but I think MIOBI was better. There will be many sad fans, not just little 15 year old girls. I was anxiously waiting to see if Emily came back at all with her baby. I wanted to see what happened after the olympics. Why cancell a good show like this. I look forward to bunheads, but that is about it. ABC family what where you thinking!!!! Bring it back. Get some new actors if the old ones want out. We love the show!! Do not blow it.

This was the only good show left on ABC Family.(Lauren) i love this show.this is the only show i really catch intrest in and it motivates me to go for what i believe in. i dont really care for the other shows. they cant cancel this show. they should at leat finish it before ending it. It will or could motivate teens to stay out of trouble and it could aloso branch out into what happens after the win the golden medal like: what happens to them when they grow up, the after life or if they grow up and hyave kids or have sisters to be in the olympics like them you cant cancel the show. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED. make it or break it is a big show in England! The Olympics are in London this year, and i love watching the gymnastics. MIOBI is one of the few shows that inspires me. I love the characters, the story lines and the passion of the show. There is so much more you could write! i thought this would follow the characters all the way through, like one tree hill did. Producers are making a big mistake and should read all of these comments!!!
