Former Daily Show correspondent Rob Riggle is set to host this year’s ESPYS, which will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre on Wednesday, July 11. Riggle is the latest comedian to be tapped for the ESPN sports award show, following in the footsteps of Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers, who hosted the event the past two years. Meyers is one of several former hosts who will make guest appearances at the ESPYS, which mark their 20th anniversary this year, along with Samuel Jackson (1999, 2001, 2002, and 2009), Lance Armstrong (2006) and Justin Timberlake (2008) “Why me? Straight up sex appeal,” Riggle said. “I know guys like Justin Timberlake and Seth Meyers are sexy… What can I say, I’m just another link in that sexy chain.” (Photo: Getty Images)

I trust there will be plenty of screamed punchlines and “Woo-hoos!”
Awesome! Riggle is perfect for the ESPYs.
Am I the only one to think Riggle is the most unfunny comic in DAILY SHOW history?
You are not alone.
I, personally, think he is awesome! Totally down to earth guy with a great sense of humor.
Rob Riggle is killing it on this BBC3′s faux-dating/comedy series ‘World Series of Dating’ btw. I’m sure he’s gonna do just fine for the ESPYs.
This guy has nailed it some of the funniest scenes in 21 Jump Street, Step Brothers and The Hangover. I want to see him in his own movies!! He is hysterical and being a marine who served in Afghanistan and knowing he also served he deserves every good thing that comes his way. Pure American!!! He is perfect host for the ESPY’s!! Go Riggle
Hey, he deserves a shot to make his nut at the Catalina Wine Mixer.
Loud is funny.
No, he has been funny in small bits in various films (Hangover, etc.) but he is NOT a lead. He has done like three or four failed pilots where he was the lead and he just doesn’t have the acting chops. But he is talented and would be a good supporting player.
Rock Chalk Jayhawk…
