Paramount Pictures and New Regency have announced a March 28, 2014 release date for Noah. The film is directed by Black Swan’s Darren Aronofsky. Russell Crowe, as Deadline first reported, will star as the Biblical builder of the Great Ark. The film reunites the Oscar winning actor with New Regency, which made LA Confidential with Crowe back in 1997, and with writer John Logan, who penned 2000’s Gladiator. After initial work by Aronofsky and Ari Handel, Logan rewrote the Noah script.

I can hardly wait.
I quite enjoy a good Biblical epic. I can watch Ben-Hur and The Ten Commandments over and over, but do we really need another Noah movie? Let me guess, it’ll be 3D with the ark coming right at us on the screen.
There are rumors circulating that Jennifer Connolly may join the cast as Noah’s wife. She earned an Academy Award last time she worked with Crowe, in A Beautiful Mind.
I love Aronofsky, so why does this sound like a disaster?
Hollywood further perpetuating myths for its own profit. Shame on you.
How many Noah films have been made over the last ninety years? Silent, talking, epic , and the humorous ? The one Noah that stands out for me is from John Huston’s ,The Bible. Now that had substance. The Noah some posters are thinking of is the Carrell picture froma few years ago and that wasn’t great. Some folks are oh so worried that Aronofsky will make an environmental Noah, but could we hold off judging a film that hasn’t been made as yet? As for disaster, well there are always those people on the sidelines predicting catastrophe, such is life.
Very few people realize that not only is the story of Noah NOT merely “myth” – it was an extremely well-documented series of events in its day – but that in Biblical days Noah was a genuine “superstar” of truly epic proportion, even bigger and more popular than Moses was, and word of his achievement spread around the then-known world of humanity relatively rapidly. Whether or not this soon-to-be-made retelling by Mr. Aronofsky will be a tremendous success or failure remains to be seen, especially with his lack of experience with blockbuster-sized budgets, but his work so far does seem to get better and better with each new film he creates.
I agree that it was an actual documented part of history, but u say it like it was local, which it wasn’t, it was global and we not only have the oldest writings in history, the bible, but also many other historical docs and present ways to see. For example, there is fossils of land creatures in the middle of the ocean, and whale bones in the desert, how did they get there? Well I can tell u it wasn’t by growing legs and sprouting gills, because first evolution is not real, and second because they found no legs on the whale or any sine of fins of gills on the land creatures.
The Bible is not the oldest known writing in the world, that would be Vedas from India. Noah was hand me down tale of a local legend created a millenia before it was written down in the Bible. This can be read in the Epic of Gigamesh by the much more ancient Sumerians. There is no hard evidence of a universal world wide flood but many great floods have occurred throughout the ages. All of these facts do not negate that this movie will be awesome.
It has now been established that all humans are descended from a single woman (MtEve) who lived many thousands of years ago, and a single man (Y-Chromosome Adam) who lived later.
MtEve was dated to between 6-10k years ago, but many atheists didnt like this result, so they recalculated the dates and came up hundreds of thousands of years. The funny part of that story was the fact that the initial study used actual observed DNA data, while the study that estimated hundreds of thousands of years used hypothetical DNA data, assuming humans and chimps are related. HA!
Y-Adam was said have lived later than Even, and atheists laughed at this “problem” for theists. However, they failed to understand that he was Noah. The only males on the Ark were Noah and his sons.
Whether you believe Genesis is true or a myth, the fact remains that our DNA proves that we are all descended from a single woman and from a single man who lived later than her, and that fact coincides with the stories of Eve and Noah.
