I’m embarrassed but honored by this unsolicited homage to our website made by filmmakers Carrie Certa (director/producer/writer), Patti Negri (co-producer/lead, Caitlin McCarthy (writer). Certa writes: “I hope you enjoy the film because we all had a blast making it.” Don’t miss the bonus scene in the credits:
Editor-in-Chief Nikki Finke - tip her here.

Nothing to be embarrassed about. Very well done!!
Funny and very clever!
This tribute was extremely well done and right on-target. Kudos, Nikki, on not only having a reliable Hollywood website, but one that far excels in content and delivery. To all involved in the making of this video, it is outstanding as well as entertaining. “Two thumbs up” – great Spring fun.
Love this.
A mutual friend introduced me to Caitlin McCarthy’s writing — both her comedic and dramatic work is razor-sharp. We should all be lucky enough to be embarrassed so nicely!
Funny… and not far from the truth!
Awesome and hilarious. I love it!!
Brilliant! Laugh out loud funny!
Made with love and total adoration to Ms. Finke! ;o)
Nikki-as others have already mentioned: Very well-done,very funny,&,also very clever. My comments are aimed directly at you Nikki. Hey,at least be happy you’re being honored while you’re still around to enjoy it. Love you Nikki. Please keep up the good work.It is greatly appreciated!!!
Nikki, the entire cast and crew is thrilled that you love the tribute video. It was done with a wink and smile to you! Cheers, Caitlin McCarthy (writer, DEADLINE KNOWS)
It was ok. I don’t know which is better, this or the Pinkberry WME videos?
The book was better.
Cuuuute…
I think they’ve got your number.
HBO should go ahead with “Tilda” get Diane Keaton back and make the series it can replace “Entourage” and be even more popular. Why did they pull the plug on Tilda what went wrong? Can it work for AMC or Showtime?
Started to write a truly ‘snarky’ review of this when the doorbell rang. It was two 300 pound giant hoods warning me the Nikki does, indeed, know everything.
With this in mind, permit me to add my compliments to the creators, Nikki, the DH team, and, of course, Lou and Knuckles.
Loved it. A step back into the noir side of yester-wood…
Good Job!
Loved DEADLINE KNOWS– a very knowing look into show biz. Screenwriter Caitlin McCarthy shows her wit and wisdom; the director captures a satiny noir atmosphere and the cast has a blast.
Great piece; thanks for bringing it to all of us.
Great site! Love the tribute video and I’m still smiling – Thanks for the laughs and nice work everyone!
Really got a kick out of this! Clever, without being too cute. So who is watching Nikki (besides me)?
That was great. And don’t be embarrassed, Nikki, you and your team work hard.
I forgot to add you people are all crazy or have no taste if you REALLY thought that was a well-written, truly humorous piece.
@Am I Crazy, Instead of hating on people who take initiative and create something, why don’t *you* make something other than insults?
This was simple fun. There was no big intimidating factor to it. Ms.Certa allowed you to just sit back and enjoy nostalgia as it should be and did not force the cheesy mock acting of the time over-take the purpose of the writing. Very good job to a great team!
Are you serious? I’ll give it to Caitlen, it was BRILLIANT the idea of shooting something that had 95% chance to be posted by Nikki, but the writing SUCKED and the acting SUCKED. The editing? Sloppy.
Cinematography good.
Again, brilliant idea of how to concoct a video to be posted on DHD.
And for that, chapeau!
@whaaaa?, you’re still crazy.
