Coming off a Super Bowl win, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning will host Saturday Night Live on May 5 with musical guest Rihanna. Athletes have always been big ratings drivers when hosting the NBC sketch comedy show. Manning’s brother, Peyton Manning, and Eli’s Super Bowl rival Tom Brady delivered some of the highest SNL numbers over the past decade with their hosting stints, a 5.9 and a 6.0 household rating, respectively. Eli Manning will likely do well too, possibly topping the 5.5 rating posted by the Lindsay Lohan-hosted SNL show, the highest-rated SNL edition this season excluding the NFL Wildcard playoff-inflated telecast.

The difference between Eli and Peyton is that Eli has zero charisma. Absolutely zero. Just because an athlete is successful, and just because they’re a big star, does not mean they will be good on SNL.
Clearly you didn’t see Eli on Letterman after the Super Bowl or in any of the commercials with his brother…
I’m offering a bounty for every line he flubs.
Eli, can you back Harvey Weinstein on the ” Bully ” project ? Speaking out publicly against bullying and violence? Derek Jeter already joined. Have fun on SNL
Get ready to cringe.
Interesting timing with this move…sweeps month and a popular figure in the sports world who just joined one of their teams being on this show to host…sure it’s ratings gold for NBC.
As long as rhiana does shy Ronnie I’ll be pleased.
