Fox has renewed three more series for next season: freshman comedy New Girl, hourlong musical comedy Glee and family comedy Raising Hope. It will be a second season for New Girl, fourth for Glee and third for Raising Hope. “Over the past season, New Girl has become the hottest new appointment series for young adults; Raising Hope has established
itself as one of the smartest and most unique offbeat comedies on television; and Glee has continued its success as a genre-defying, global cultural phenomenon,” said Fox’s entertainment president Kevin Reilly. “All three of these comedies add a fresh and distinctive flavor to our Tuesday nights, and I’m really happy to bring them back to our air next season.” The pickup comes after Raising Hope delivered solid numbers when moved to the anchor 8 PM position in the two-hour comedy block Fox tried out while Glee is on hiatus,
earning a spot on the renewal list alongside shoe-ins Glee and New Girl. Fox’s Tuesday lineup returns to normal tomorrow with new episodes of all three newly-picked up series, Glee, followed by New Girl and Raising Hope. The three comedies join recently renewed Fox dramedy Bones. As for Fox’s other comedy series, I Hate My Teenage Daughter has been practically canceled, while Breaking In‘s chances for another comeback after surviving last year’s cancellation appear slim. On the drama side, another, probably shortened season of Fringe still looks like a possibility if the economics are worked out.

What about FRINGE???
Fox needs to do a show with Zombies. Drop Glee. Get with the times.
Well Ryan Murphy supposedly has a gamechanger for next season to keep Finn, Rachel and Kurt around so maybe they’ll become zombies and devour Becky and Blaine. Although most probably we’ll just get a season split between college and high school so that it can air with no hiatus, except for baseball, presential debates, election night and overlong hours of X-Factor…
I heard a zombie musical show is in the works:
“Gleeeeeeeeeek!”
They should try changing things up. Raising Hope? With their current programs-Fox needs to raise hopes in terms of their programming. Seriously,I used to be a big Glee fan ,but,it’s not the same anymore. With Lea supposedly leaving after this season,I may not be watching next season. Some people say it’d be stretching it having her still there because of her age now. Oh please-the entire Glee show is an over the top unrealistic program. She could have stayed on regardless of her age. I will miss Rachel. She’s one of the ONLY reasons why I even bother watching Glee at all.
Lea’s not leaving, none of the leads (Colfer, Michele, Monteith, Morrison) are. That was a rumor started by Ryan Murphy last summer, likely a ploy to try and push through a spin-off that didn’t work. Most they’ll do is get rid of some supporting (Salling, Agron and Riley are prime suspects).
Where’s Fringe????
The appointment I remember to make regarding ‘New Girl’ is the appointment to be doing ANYTHING else when it comes one apart from watch it.
Diabolically awful show.
Looks like Touch and Fringe will join these three and that’ll be the end of it for Fox.
Still hoping for a miraculous “The Finder” renewal. Come on Fox, give it a chance!!!
YAY for Raising Hope. best comedy on Fox. Now, if they’ll renew their best drama, Fringe, I’ll be happy.
=)Please renew “Fringe”=)
Man, how the times have changed. Raising Hope = Solid numbers? Couldn’t top 4M viewers the last two weeks nor break a 2.0 in the demo. It’s FOXs Cougar Town. Critics like it, seriously devoted fans but NO ONE watches.
“It’s FOX’s Cougar Town.”
If you mean that the network has purposely shoveled it around in the scheduling to confuse viewers and did not bother any marketing, then yes, it is FOX’s Cougar Town.
Please bring back FRINGE, even if its for 8-12 eps to cap off the series in a grand way.
Do people watch Touch?
RAISING HOPE IS THE BEST COMEDY!!!
I am so happy!
@Thomas,you are so right! Raising Hope solid? I don’t get it. And yet, if Raising Hope aired on the CW, they would consider it a breakout hit. Then again the CW considers EVERYTHING a breakout hit-even with demos of 0.5,0.6,0.7. Absolutely ridiculous!
In its regular time slot, Raising Hope has solid numbers in the high 2′s low 3′s in the demo, nearly double what breaking in pulls. So. No. That’s nothing like the CW’s invisible numbers.
No, it didn’t.
Raising Hope had one airing this season in the low 3′s (a 3.1, for its season premiere) and two airings in the high 2′s (both a 2.9, for the second and third episodes). Since then it has steadily been in the low 2′s in its regular timeslot.
HELLO FOX!! AMERICAN DAD???!!!!!
jeffery, all I meant was because of the low demos the CW normally gets-Raising Hope would probably be its’ number one show. Now,would that be a reflection of Raising Hope’s so-called solid numbers,or,more a reflection of the low quality of the CW’s programming,or,maybe a little bit of both. Of course I know if Raising Hope aired on the CW & got 2′s or 3′s in the demo numbers-that would indeed be solid by CW standards. My basic point was that numbers on the major networks are supposed to be higher & that apparently the CW has much lower standards for their programs’ ratings
With Fox committing itself to sports on Saturday nights, “Cops” may get moved to Fridays, which will probably mean the end of first-run scripted programming on Friday nights over that network.
“Fringe”‘s best hope may be a midweek slot, since it won’t be on Fridays should it be renewed.
This night of television is one of the most entertaining. I know a lot of people like to talk trash on New Girl on here, but it’s the show we’re talking about the next day at work. And despite all the talk of hate for Glee, notice that people keep watching?
fox shows are a joke why do people keep on watching them they are absolutely crap reality rubbish glee raisin hope new girl come on this is embarrasing even alcatraz is going down the pan when they get a gem guess what they go and cancel it ps long live firefly, tscc, dollhouse, deserved to be treated a lot better than there cancelations
Really hope Fringe will be renewed?
P.s kinda happy Glee was renewed, don’t kill me.. It’s my guilty pleasure.
your not the only one. I’m glad Glee is back. It just seems to be in to hate it-LOL
Great New for the fans of “Raising Hope”. To me it is one of the best shows on Broadcast TV.
Go Raising Hope! I’m good friends with one of the writers. Great guy who deserves this success.
They should do a split season of Fringe and Alcatraz. A thirteen episode season of Fringe in the fall, followed by a 13 episode season of Alcatraz. Two shows for the price of one time slot. Then move Touch to Monday’s and pair it with a new FOX show, keep Tuesdays the same, and on Wednesdays X-Factor and another new show. Maybe they could do some other split seasons to get more shows on with limited space, like split Bones into two halves and air a shortened Finder season in between or something like that
But why would they do that? Alcatraz and The Finder both have bad ratings; it wouldn’t be worth it to split seasons like that… and then they also wouldn’t be premiering any new sitcoms.
i love a lot of the shows but they cancel most shows after 1 season .when are they gonne learn it s not just about in america showing on tv also on internet what is downloaded or recorded
or sold to other country s caus i love the finder it s funny boones i loved the first couple a seasons now it s just the same again and boring if u can geuss
