The Shane Valdes/Peter Harding-directed documentary Butch Walker: Out of Focus debuts tomorrow night at the Nashville Film Festival. Walker has a long career working in the shadows while his songs and talent have helped propel bands including Train, Weezer, Fall Out Boy, Pink and Jacob Dylan. Walker and his band The Black Widows will be performing at the festival.

How is this a green-band “All Audiences” trailer when I counted at least two F-bombs in there?
anyone know the title of the song Butch is singing in this trailer? “for once, once in your life, won’t you do something that feels right… waiting for the next karma ride”
It’s called “Synthesizers.”
It’s called “Synthesizer” and there is an official video where Matthew McConaughey reprises his wooderson role from “Dazed and Confused”
Shane Valdes also directed the video “Synthesizer”
I’ve loved Butch Walker for years and years (Marvelous 3, solo stuff, songwriting hits for others) but lets be honest, Butch has always wanted to be a huge rock star but will never make it because his voice is really cool, but he’s never an “amazing” voice that will grab you. I instantly know when Butch has produced a song since he’s used the same sound and technique for over 15 years – a nice, clean arena=rock sounds which commercial radio loves.. but so far it has not worked for his solo stuff… I wish he would go back to doing Marvelous 3 stuff since that was his creative peak in my mind (or his first solo record). Anyway, I look forward to watching this documentary since I am a big fan of Butch’s…. it was sad a few years back when he lost all of recordings in a house fire – too bad.
