In this futuristic thriller, when the mob wants to rub out an enemy, they dispatch their target back in time 30 or so years where a Looper — in this case Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) will take care of the job. Which presents a problem when Joe’s employers decide to close the loop and send future Joe (Bruce Willis) for assassination. Written and directed by Rian Johnson, Looper also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano and Jeff Daniels. The film was one of the hottest titles at the last Cannes Film Festival, where FilmDistrict bought it before it was completed. It’s also a reteam between Gordon-Levitt and Johnson, who worked together on the indie Brick. Currently slated to open September 28.

looks cool.
Really enjoy RJ’s movies. I look forward to this.
Oh hell yes! gonna be the best movie of the year, callin it now
Looks like Joe’s doing a dead-on Bruce Willis for this. I’m pumped.
We’ve seen this film. We love this film. It wins, mayne. It’s THE BEST!
You realize the trailer’s freeze frame accidentally shows Gordon-Levitt’s stuntman, right?
They would never use a stuntman for this tight of a shot.
That’s Joseph Gordon-Levitt in 3 hours worth of makeup to make him look more like a younger version of Bruce Willis.
nope, it’s Joe!
why do they have to send people back in time to be killed 30 years from now?
no body, no weapon, no crime, no mess, no problem. just another missing person. kapeesh?
i guess, if it’s cheaper than the $10k it costs to have someone whacked and dumped in lye or put in an incinerator now.
It’s pretty obvious that the gangsters are also sending gold bars from the future into the past as well.
I love movies like this.
Just hoping they can answer the question of why it makes more sense to send them back 30 years — where evidence could potentially fuck up the future if discovered.
Have liked Bruce Willis since Moonlighting, Die Hard, 12 Monkeys & Blind Date.
A strange question, but does that actor look like Joseph Gordon-Levitt? If a stuntman got in a shot, I understand. But throughout the trailer, Levitt looks…weird. Anyone else see that? He get in a car crash or something? Hope not!
He’s meant to look like a young Bruce Willis.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt underwent three hours of special effects make-up each day to be able to look more like Bruce Willis.
Disappointing Trailer- Script is Amazing! I just hope the film is better than this!! Please don’t let me down RJ
HOLY SHIT. Awesomeness overload
Now that I’ve seen this trailer it now just looks like another action movie.
And we tried so hard to please you. We’ll remove it from the schedule immediately. Expect a call soon about ideas for re-shoots.
If you can send somebody back in time or forward in time then you can also just de-molecularize them for the same price. Their atoms would be scattered to the wind there’s no real need to send them back in time since you can never be certain they would really be killed by the looper. What if he’s a flake or if he’s late or gets in an accident on his way to the location? Much easier to just de-molecularize them in the future hence this movie makes no sense logically.
You’re over thinking it a bit much. In the world this movie has set up. Time travel has been invented thirty years from now, but not de-molecularization or whatever. It’s a movie, “hence” it doesn’t have to adhere to what you would like to see be the plot.
And for that matter, how can Kyle Reese be John Connor’s father?
Films involving time travel rarely (if ever) make sense.
I love me some Bruce Willis. Take note metrosexual, mani-pedi, hair gel, twitter drones…that’s a real man.
Wouldn’t Joseph Gordon-Levitt be all, oh man I’m going to be bald in the future?
This is probably a stupid question which will be answered in the movie, but if the guy was killed by his future self, how could he have a future self?
Best movie of the year? Um forget about The Hobbit, Dark Knight Rises, and Prometheus? Looks decent though.
Looks good. I’ll definitively go see it. But no more quirk (aka Brick or The Brothers Bloom?)
Wow, what a ridiculous plot.
Just looks like Joseph Gordon-Levitt in really weird makeup making one of his two acting faces. Emily Blunt is great though–she can do anything!!!
I will see anything with Bruce Willis in it. He and Denzel are awesome action stars. I love time travel movies. This movie may not be great (trailer, at least doesn’t look spectacular, especially when they made a big deal about it with mini-featurettes) but I will still see it.
Dark Knight Rises
Prometheus
GI Joe
Good summer
Love me some dick flicks
