There are buyer screenings tonight in LA and New York for The Baytown Disco, an action movie whose trailer found its way out today. Billy Bob Thornton and Eva Longoria star in the story about three infamously ruthless Alabama brothers who find themselves on the wrong side of a wild cast of characters when they finally try to do a single good deed. William O. Perkins optioned the script through his LLeju Productions banner and financed and produced alongside Robert Teitel of State Street Pictures. Barry Battles directed the Black List script he co-wrote with Griffin Hood. Here it is:

Ok, I have to admit that this looks really cool. It’s rare that one of your ‘Hot Trailers’ is actually hot. Love the style, love the actors, and love that title! When is it coming out?
I see the director’s friends flocked to the board, this has no audience and the film looks like a ripoff of smokin aces’ homage to pulp fiction.

looks like perfect, “for cable entertainment”, but i admire the effort. unless your name is tarantino, it’s difficult to fill seats in a cinema with stuff like this, people are so used to getting this at home.
I check this site often and have to say that even as a chick – this looks like a good time! Love the lines, “How many kids you think they got? They ain’t running a damn daycare”. Great delivery and can’t take my eyes off of Brick. Also, when the guy says, “Hey WaterWorld” – priceless! The title I must agree is actually part of what makes it even cooler – can’t wait to say I have been Baytown’d! Bring it! Ready to have a cult film with this kind of humor and originality.

Went to see this Movie at a Screening today in NYC . At the Amc Theater 68th ST to be more exact….. and it was an amazing movie…….. Great Story Line, Great Characters, Plenty of Action and never overboard… Just enough to keep you Glued to the Screen the whole time…. and it also had Very Funny lines from the Main Characters…. and trust me i go to the movies at least once a Week in this era in Ny where a ticket is 13 dollars and i would not say this movie was good if it wasn’t ….. Worth the 13 bucks……… Highly Recommended!!!! Run and go see it as soon as it comes out because it’s the most fun you’ll have at the movies in a while!!

I had the pleasure of being invited to the LA screening. This film is a rollicking good time. Action packed, humor-filled, a wild ride. A must see. You will want to get back in line for another turn.

B movie at best. What here is original in any way? Nothing, that’s right. So what we have is bottom of the barrel scraped re-hash of whatever works in the lowest common denominator sort of way. I miss good movies.
