Last week, we broke the story that Fox News Channel was finalizing new multi-year, multimillion-dollar deals with its two biggest stars, Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity. Now one of them, O’Reilly’s, has closed, according to an official announcement by the cable news network’s chairman and CEO Roger Ailes. “Bill’s immense talent, intellect and raw convictions are an extremely rare combination in television and exemplify why The O’Reilly Factor has been the number one program in cable news for more than a decade,” Ailes said. “He is a tremendous force in the business and has helped to make Fox News the success story it is today.” Added O’Reilly, “It’s been great fun in challenging the establishment and exposing the corruption across the nation. Fox News has become the primary force in television news under Roger’s leadership and I’m delighted to continue there for years to come.”

O’Reilly joined FNC at its launch in 1996, initially serving as host of The O’Reilly Report, which was re-named The O’Reilly Factor when it moved to primetime in 1998. The O’Reilly Factor has been No. 1 in its 8 PM time slot for 136 consecutive months and has been the most-watched program on any cable news network for 125 consecutive months, having eclipsed previous top performer, CNN’s Larry King Live, in 2000. The O’Reilly Factor currently averages 4.5 million viewers in gross audience per night, consistently outrating CNN, MSNBC and HLN combined in both viewership and the 25-54 demographic. During his more than 15-year tenure at FNC, O’Reilly has interviewed such newsmakers as President Obama, presidential candidate Gov. Mitt Romney, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former President George W. Bush, Jon Stewart, Howard Stern, Rosie O’Donnell, Bono, Stephen Colbert and Michael Moore.

Way to go Bill! Keep that no spin coming!
I assume you’re not referring to his photoshopped mug.
Fantastic. Filling the airwaves with garbage for years to come!
Used to have some energy, but his show is dull and self-satisfied. And every guest is drawn from the lobby of Fox News.
Again, so dull.
I agree that his show has become dull and self-satisfied. It’s the same type of topics time and time again….stuff that he feels the need to hype up the outrage of his base viewership; he knows what dog whistle issues work on his crowd and he’ll go over the same memes repeatedly while ignoring stories that deserve some real investigative journalism. Guess we shouldn’t be surprised as he isn’t actually a journalist even though he has referred to himself as one in numerous interviews. He is actually more like a carnival barker and a school yard bully rolled into one. He references himself far too often and always finds a way to slip in how often he gets picked on but somehow neglects to notice how often he targets and attacks those he disagrees with.
Best host on any news station. Politics aside this was a no-brainer. What is he averaging now – 3 million viewers not including DVR viewing.
Without doubt one of the finest human beings to ever walk the planet…
Meanwhile Keith Olbermann stays home every night and drinks.
Bill O’Reily is a RINO. Never like him or Hannity. Would much rather have Beck back on.
O’Reilly is NOT a RINO… he’s NOT a Republican! He’s an Independent… he shows the truth on both sides… good, bad, ugly, whatever the truth is he exposes it for what it is. He doesn’t take sides, in fact, if anything he’s given Obama soooo much leeway that for a long time it looked like he was a Democrat! Now he’s finally got Obama’s number though… hopefully people won’t vote for race, for party, for anything except what that person (regardless of level in govt) has DONE… not sweet talked and agreeing with “it’s someone else’s fault” – especially Obama… who goes around saying to others to take responsibility but blames everyone else and every situation for his problems. It’s the Presidency… it requires big boy pants!!!!
Meh. BillO has claimed to be a registered independent for 15+ years, but in 2000 the NYDN noted that he was actually a registered Republican.

He re-registered after the story, but the whole “I’m a political independent” is just part of the schtick. Honestly, one of the reasons I’d choose to watch Hannity if someone put a gun to my head and made me pick is that at least Hannity is honest about who he is, even if he’s dishonest about everything else. BillO’s one of those cons who can’t bear to admit they’re righties, so they pretend to be libertarians or in his case a “traditionalist.” Guy claims to be against corruption, and then the two Dems he defends are Joe Lieberman and Evan Bayh?!? Give me a break.
Remember when Bill co-hosted Inside Edition? Classic.
lol @ O’reilly being an independent that is hilarious, hes just another FOX News drone spreading their ignorance and propaganda. The guy is a self serving ass clown.
O’Reilly Factor is just a dull show, now. I’d rather watch Alyona Minkovski (The Alyona Show) on RT…and I do not agree with a lot of her politics…just very good political discussion
And FNC is foolish if they are paying him more than before. His viewership may be the highest on cable news, but his audience is down 500,000-1,000,000 compared to before. Most conservatives now stay away from his show
What I don’t understand, is why do these people that hate or dislike O’reilly, so vehemently, continue to watch him, and then go to the trouble to write and de-nounce him. Why not just watch the cartoons to begin with?
