Michael Rosenberg, Entertainment One’s SVP Original Scripted Series Programming, has been promoted to EVP U.S. Scripted Television. In his new position, Rosenberg will oversee eOne’s TV Development, Current Programming and Production department. As the Canadian company is streamlining operations to establish a U.S. outpost dedicated to serving the American TV marketplace, Rosenberg will shepherd these efforts. “My goal is to focus on seeking out high-quality projects and ideas that really resonate with US audiences,” said Rosenberg, who will continue to be based in Los Angeles and report to eOne Television’s CEO John Morayniss.
Rosenberg’s promotion comes on the heels of the exit of Noreen Halpern, eOne Television’s head of scripted programming, in February. Rosenberg is shepherding eOne’s development slate, which includes Steven Bochco’s drama series Evolution; drama Upstate, from Philip Seymour Hoffman and writers Brett C. Leonard & Bob Glaudini, which is set up at HBO; and The Reel, a psychological thriller series with Paul WS Anderson, Jeremy Bolt and Adam D’Alba. He also oversees eOne’s ongoing series Hell On Wheels on AMC, Call Me Fitz on DirecTV, Haven on Syfy and the upcoming Saving Hope on NBC. Rosenberg’s team includes development executives Jen Chambers and Adam Blumberg and the Current Department led by Larry Gilbert. He also will work closely with eOne’s SVP Filmed Entertainment, Benedict Carver. Rosenberg has served as SVP at eOne since 2009, where he also shepherded MTV’s Skins. He segued to eOne following a stint as head of TV series for Blueprint Entertainment, which was acquired by eOne. There he developed and executive produced HBO’s Hung. Before Blueprint, Rosenberg served as president of Maverick Television, where he developed and exec produced FX’s The Riches.
