The drama revolves around the world of offshore online gaming and an increasingly tense relationship between a business founder and his protege. The film will be co-financed by Stone Village, I’m told, and produced by Appian Way. script was written by David Levien and Brian Koppelman.

The worst are people who point to The Social Network as an example of his great acting abilities. Even if he WERE good in it, wow — big deal. So what if a young multi-millionaire with an inflated sense of self-worth is capable of playing a young multi-millionaire with an inflated sense of self-worth.

sorry i seen alpha dog and timberlake did not pull off his character at all he cant act alpha dog was a good movie with great actors which may make some people think he did well jt playing a gangsta/bad guys is just not believable.

This is all the work of Jennifer Davisson Killoran. She is Leonardo Dicaprio’s manager/producing partner. Leo attaches himself to all kinds of projects that he never intends to do. They Produce, make their money and put Justin Timberlake in there to get the commission and continue to try and build him into a leading man. Who knows, Brad Furman got a great performance out of Matthew McConaughey. But I’m not so optimistic with JT. Hopefully there will be a scheduling conflict..
This is a crapy project. Has sat on the shelf for months. The mismatch of this pairing is funny. But hey, you are correct, sir. Payday.
A lot has gone on in the world of online poker in the past year. Like the complete shutdown of the entire industry. So that might have something to do with the shelving of this project.

So Timberlake is a full-time actor now? Guess he won’t come out with another album since Hollywood has given him a new successful career.
It’s all about the money. It’s very difficult to make any with music nowadays. Smash-hit albums only sell a couple of million, unless you’re Adele. You’ve got to tour to get the big bucks, and the touring market is pretty depressed right now. Even established stars like Timberlake can’t guarantee a sellout run. Also, big tours take months and months of rehearsals, planning etc. With a movie he gets a few million up front, maybe points as well, and moves on to the next one. Some do well, others don’t. It’s a couple of months work, max, with a few weeks of cushy world travel for promotion. Plenty of time in between for guest spots on other singers singles, or promoting a fragrance or whatever.
Timberlake is smart and or lucky because he’s associatin with talented folks but sharing their praise. Andy Samberg came up with the SNL d*ick in a box skit but Timberlake is now considered ‘funny’. Put anyone in that skit with Samberg and it’s funny. Sorkin write The Social Network, Fincher directed it and Eisenberg nailed the lead Performance but somehow a nothing role gain Tiberlake praise.
Let’s also give Timbaland a lot, not all but a LOT, of credit for Timberlakes solo hits.
Give him time and more flops like In Time will keep producers at bay.

I have enjoyed Justin’s movies and look forward to seeing this one. I don’t know him personally so I cannot comment on his attitude however I love it when he is on SNL and with Jimmy Fallon. Those two together are funny!!

1-Coen bros, David Fincher, Cassavetes and Clint Eastwood think Justin Timberlake can act. I don’t think they cast him because they think he’s “hot” or a good golf player. Their prestige as filmmakers is out of question.

Hollywood is all business and in the end the dollar is all that counts.
As you pointed out his last two movies were worldwide box office hits.
And some may say he’s a bad actor, well he did win Emmy’s for his guest acting on SNL. Plus some professional critics singled out his performances in several of his movies.
A bunch of armchair critics aren’t going to change those facts. Haters will hate regardless and will never give him a chance. So be it, speak with their wallets and don’t see his movies. Simple as that.

Timberlakes performance is always terrible – you could see him trying to act, not actually being the character. He was the greatest flaw of a largely flawless films. He simply isn’t talented. He needs to go away an producers/studios need to realize he does not put A$$e$ in seats, but the opposite.
I was terrified that this said “Blade Runner” — as in, doing a Blade Runner remake with Justin Timberlake. Isn’t it bad enough that they inflicted him on sci-fi fans with “In Time”…? So glad it didn’t actually say “Blade Runner.”

Affleck is one of the best actors of our day. His only problem fan-wise is that he tends to make quality movies, as afan says below. (Thank G a few people are still trying.)
Justin Timberlake is a classy, extremely talented artist. That he is multi-faceted, makes great music and makes movies that are a joy to watch, may bother some, that’s their problem!
