EXCLUSIVE: A former Beatle and a former Eurythmic are making a musical with Paramount. The studio has picked up Hole In The Fence from Ringo Starr and Dave Stewart. The coming-of-age drama is about a group of kids who form a band to escape their depressing mining town. Stewart and Starr, who have worked together as musicians, will serve as executive producers along with Pam Williams. David Harris is writing the script based on Starr and Stewart’s music and original idea. Harris is already working with Stewart and his production company Weapons of Mass Entertainment. The writer is turning the Zombie Broadway graphic novel that he, Stewart and Christine Schenley created into a feature. Jonas Akerlund is scheduled to direct Zombie Broadway. Stewart, the creator and an executive producer on the ABC pilot Malibu Country starring Reba McEntire and Lily Tomlin, recently signed with ICM for all his initiatives in film, television, music, theater, publications, new media and branding. Starr is repped by Special Artists Agency in the U.S. and Primary Talent International in the UK.

That’s great! It sounds like Billy Elliot, but instead of ballet the kid wants to be the worst Beatle.
butternuts you are a fool.probably not a fool but just stupid
Thanks, Steve; butternuts is obviously a raving idiot, poor slob. As a drummer, listening to Ringo taught me how to play with a band, how to make melody as well as rhythm with the instrument. There was no better or “worst” (the eyes roll) Beatle; the greatest reason for their success as a band was the perfect sum of their parts: John the mind, Paul the heart, George the soul…and Ringo, the flesh and blood. Four great musicians together, one great band. Butternuts, go back to watching Idol.
Thank you for your comment RG Howard. I’m confused though. You profess to be some sort of musical expert, but then you also claim to be a drummer. Which one is it?
By the way, I love Ringo Starr – and unlike some in this forum I know he has a sense of humor. Peace and love, people, peace and love.
Go Ritchie …big hit for barrister Bruce Grakal … go guys. This sounds terrific!
I’m not really a big fan of musicals, but I really want to see this! Ringo’s the greatest! I love him sooo much!
Didn’t realize the two were mutually exclusive, though I don’t profess to be the former, am not much of the latter, but I do know as Steve said a fool when I read one. Ringo does have a sense of humor; that’s how he’s been able to tolerate a life-time of idiots like you.
