Ratings for Starz’s new period drama Magic City are still low, but they are moving in the right direction. In its second week, the period drama drew 370,000 total viewers in its premiere airing at 10 PM on Friday. That was up 25% from the series’ official debut the previous Friday. For the night, Magic City’s second episode averaged 556,000 viewers over two airings in Live+Same Day, up 31%. This was Episode 2′s first run on Starz (the pilot episode had been previewed behind the season finale of Spartacus before its official premiere) but, along with Episodes 1 and 3, it has been available for free sampling through cable and satellite providers. Starz estimates that the first episode has received 3.5 million views to date. Episode 2′s current tally is 1.75 million.

Nellie thanks for the info ! lets see how it will be for magic city in couple of weeks …
It’s such a kind of cool, eerie show. No idea where it’s going, but it feels less like “Mad Men” and more the Rat Pack-era version of “Boardwalk Empire.”
“Magic City” is goin’ down.
I’m hooked. I’ve seen 3 epis and they just keep getting better and more engrossing.
I MAGICally cancelled STARS on DirecTV even though I was getting it free for 3 months.
MAGIC CITY sucks! If I wanted to watch a pointless show with ghostly pale people having sex I’d watch GIRLS.
Sike! I’m not watching that bullsheit either.
I’d rather watch a hologram at Coachella of the legendary Gary Coleman getting sucked off by Anna Nicole Smith while he’s saying “What you talking bout Willis”.
How’s LILYHAMMER on Netflix doing? I’ve seen the first three episodes and it keeps getting better. It’s hilarious.
Any stats on Netflix programming?
It’s a decent show. A bit formula but still watchable. There’s been a strong trend of torpedoing new show and movies on this site. It reminds me that those who can, do. Those who can’t, review.
Magic city is the best show on TV. It is the best and it is awesome love every second of it can’t wait for new episode.!!!!!!!!
Are we watching the same series/show???…please explain in detail, What scene would you describe in this series in which it made you type the word “AWESOME” curious minds want to know….
My husband and I both LOVE Magic City! Can’t wait for the next episode.
My partner and I both love this new show! We are Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire fans. We rank this new series right up there at the top! Love the errie “God Father” style music that ends each highly entertaining episode. This period show is realistic to the time period and so much better than the two other retro programs the major networks offered to viewers in the past season. This program needs more media advertising to expose it to new viewers.
Why do they keep showing the same episodes over and over????!!! I have been trying to watch it eve
ry Friday night and all I see is the same episodes over and over…..very annoying!!
Finally: a believeable, historically accurate show, written for adults, set in magnificent fifties Miami Beach! I grew up on a street off Biscayne Blvd, was in my early twenties in 1959, so I can tell you the series very well represents Miami during that period. It was the most sought-after destination for beautiful people all over the world. The hotels were fabulous beyond description, and the hoteliers demanded the highest order of quality and fine service in every lavish aspect, nothing less was acceptable. The world’s greatest entertainers performed to packed hotel ballrooms and clubs nightly. This series is exceptionally reminiscent of better times, and serves to transport those of us who revere and respect the past to a better place!

I love the show. The only thing that would mess it up would be for Ike’s wife start playing around. It good to show that us old guys can have a faithful wife in a setting like that.
I was fortunate enough to be a non-speaking extra on Magic City and FINALLY in episode 3, I got my two seconds of screen time. The show is really phenomenal, I think. I know what attention they give to historical accuracy. Shows like this, shot on location in South Florida, really add a lot to TV. Local talent, local businesses all benefit, too. I’m hoping this is a HUGE hit for STARZ (and hope the same for BOSS when it turns this August).
Magic City is the best show ever!!! i think they would have a lot more viewers if it would be on HBO .i don,t know why HBO didn,t pick up this perfect show.Shows do not come any better than Magic city . The most i have been entertained in the last 20 years . i love every second of every show.
Guess i am obsessed with this show!!!!!!
This is a wonderful period piece that grows on you. Love the characters, cinematic effects and the cars. It is more delicious for us than Mad Men as my parents traveled to the Fontainbleau when we were kids and so nostalgic. Hope we get more years of this!!!!!!
I absolutely love Magic City… I hope they will continue the show after this first season…
Great series, sure hope the network gives it a chance to bloom. It has the potential to really grow. Watched every episode!
I love, love, love this show! I’ve told everyone I know about it. I feel the same way about it as Boardwalk Empire. I want more than 8 episodes/season.
Magic City is a great show. A bit predictable, but that’s what makes it great. The acting is superb and much closer to reality than other shows.
Historically correct and “spot on” with the acting!
Hope they keep it running………it’s well deserved.
Magic City is awesome… My husband and I have watched all the episodes. Can’t wait until the next episode. Please don’t keep us hanging…..When is the next new show….
