EXCLUSIVE: The remaking of Rob Schneider as comic leading man continues! After scoring in the CBS sitcom Rob, Schneider’s teaming with Terminator and The Walking Dead producer Gale Anne Hurd on the feature comedy vehicle Teach Me to Dance. He’ll star and she’ll produce and the film has a script by Patricia Azarcoya Schneider and Marion Douglas, based on an idea by Azarcoya Schneider (the producer of Mexican TV shows is Rob’s wife). The comedy is about a man who schemes to win back his ex-girlfriend by learning how to dance. Schneider, who regularly shows up in Adam Sandler movies in quirky roles, of course played the iconic man-whore Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, a funny sleeper hit that Schneider wrote. The R-rated sequel, European Gigolo, didn’t fare nearly as well, but was still pretty funny. Gersh reps Schneider and the writers.

Is there a studio yet? Or is it going out to buyers now?
Why, you wanna make a bid? You can do eeeet!
The R-rated sequel, European Gigolo, didn’t fare nearly as well, but was still pretty funny…
Really? But was still pretty funny? Depressing… and I just have to sit here and take it.
I stared at that sentence too. “European Gigolo…was still pretty funny.” The only explanation is if Schneider was standing there when the writer was typing it up and he was trying to be polite…?
I liked it the first time when it was called SHALL WE DANCE…
Really? Gale Anne Hurd is the least funny person on earth.
Mike, ‘European Gigolo’ was one of the least funny movies of all time. It was, in fact, the cinematic equivalent of a crime against humanity.
Schneider won;t be appearing in any more Sandler films. he finally burned that bridge too.
Do tell — what did he do to burn the Sandler bridge?
Schneider is a monster. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Hurd, who is a strong producer. Schneider is used to walking all over producers and inexperienced directors. He’s a bizarre combo of passive aggressive and aggressive aggressive. You’d think he’s Will Smith the way he acts.
Only one thing, Garcia: Will Smith is a classy dude. Even if Schneider sniffed a scintilla of Will Smith-like success he would still be a tough guy to work with. Super success either amplifies the inner jerk or, in other cases, just makes the inner angel shine more bright (see Bullock, Sandra)!
Good for Rob!
ROTFLOL!!!
Uhhhh confused.
All this hate for Schneider is based on lack of solid scripts for him; directors and producers having final say in his abilities? Or the haters are just jealous? Envious of not having any comic success like he has? Oh…they never made it as a cast member of Saturday Night Live. I understand how this all works now. Really…he’s burned bridges with Sandler?
