Ryan Seacrest’s “big NBC announcement” will wait until Wednesday. Seacrest, who had been finalizing a new broad agreement with NBCUniversal, was scheduled to appear on NBC’s Today show tomorrow morning for a major NBC-related announcement, as tweeted by the show’s executive producer Jim Bell on Sunday night. But tonight, Seacrest tweeted that his visit to the NBC morning show is being postponed for health reasons. “I’m feeling a little pain from elbow surgery, doctors says no travel for a day, so see you on the Today show Wednesday am,” he wrote. The delay will make for a very hectic Wednesday schedule for Seacrest who will have to be back in Los Angeles to host Fox’s American Idol performance show later that day. Seacrest has been under deals at Comcast’s E! since 2006. His new pact is expected to have a major NBC component, including some duties on Today, though not full-time (at least not for now), and a role in the network’s coverage of the upcoming London Olympics.

Really, other than his mom, who really cares about this guys’ announcement?
I like Ryan Seacrest, I hope that American idol sees the value of him.
Ryan is cool guy and deserves the success he’s getting. The pic you have online is awful of him. His publicist needs to send you a new one!
I’m sure he’s a nice guy but he needs to be held accountable for the bottom feeder dreck he keeps foisting on the public. Come on, Ryan, you can do better.
Kardashians. Nuff said.
And now Shahs of Sunset, and soon a possible Melissa Rycroft show. He scrapes so low, he must be hitting molten rock by now.
Whatever it is, I hope it mandates involvement by Sacha Baron Cohen.
leno, kathy lee, carson freakin’ daly, and now This guy. Oh the ever growing list of NBC personalities who will Never be cool…
Who’s he kidding? He just didn’t want to be upstaged by Palin today. And shame on him for foisting the Kardashians on the world.
Agree — He didn’t want to appear on the Sarah Palin day. Can’t blame him; I’d have been anywhere but there, too!
I guess Ryan must be in the ‘bottom three’, but looks to be saved by the NBC brass.
Ryan has been a successful entrepreneur, and he generally gets nice notices for his demeanor. So, good luck with NBC…you will need it.
He wouldnt be on with Palin to steal his thunder. True.
I feel like this guy has way to many jobs. He needs to stop or he is going to be more overexposed than he already is. Ryan should stick with a couple jobs and not try and be on every channel.
Seacrest acts like a suck-up; however, when he has to act tough he becomes the Wizard of Oz behind the black curtain.
Moreover, Seacrest produces crap-television. He foisted the Kardashians on us and the world as we know it has never been the same. For that reason alone, he should be exiled to another country, but I guess NBC will do.
