Producers of the latest James Bond film Skyfall offer up a few more brief snips of footage during shooting in Shanghai, which definitely provides that sleek Bond look with its sharp cityscapes. The film directed by Sam Mendes and written by John Logan opens November 9.

Seems this Shanghai shoot was a last minute change. Early on China was not a location mentioned for this Bond movie. Tells you the power of box office gold that China has become a major market. I predict this will change the landscape of Hollywood as well since politics in Hollywood tend to be anti-Chinese. A lot of vocal critcs but they tend to serve no purpose except for PR. You think any actor including the elite “A-list” are going to say anything negative about China in the near future when China can simply ban an actor’s movie or studio’s movies. Big name actors account for a significant portion of a big movie’s budget these days. They going to count Hollywood’s take from China in the future. Then one day they open their mouths and China bans their movie from being shown in China and some studios might end up bankrupt after that. Capitalism at work.
Roger Deakins is the name that excites me most about this movie. Can’t wait to see what he’s done with a Bond movie!
I know people will disagree, but I hate the trend of production blogs and so much behind the scenes crap. I know it’s to increase awareness and get people excited about the movie, but it does the opposite for me. I really don’t want to know too many details. Perhaps not in this specific case, but many times I feel like I’ve already seen the movie. Yes, I’m aware I’m on an industry site, but still…it takes away from the movie going experience for me.
It’s such a shame that someone strapped you to a chair, taped your eyes open “Clockwork Orange”-style and forced you to watch it.
Wow. Snooze fest on that vlog. Generated ZERO excitement. They might want to think about making those a little more dynamic.
