Taran Killam does a decent sendup of Andy Cohen, whom I once described as The Single Worst Thing Airing On Bravo… Then again, everything on that trash network (except Top Chef) is now a complete embarrassment:
Editor-in-Chief Nikki Finke - tip her here.

Once again Nikki – you’ve hit the idiot right on the head. Andy has turned Bravo TV into an utter waste bin. Obviously, someone out there must like 15 iterations of the ‘Housewives” franchise, but America’s IQ drops a little every time one of those shows airs.
…because it’s America’s IQ that tv should be concerned about? And SNL is an example of IQ-raising entertainment?
SNL needs to do one of these a week. I’ve never seen Andy’s show, but the parody is absurd enough that it works on its own terms.
Yes! Thank you SNL for this! Andy Cohen is a pathetic attempt at a television personality. I can’t even sit through one of his 30 second promos, let alone a full show. Which is fine at this point since I’ve stopped watching entirely now that the network has unbelievable crap masquerading as programming. I used to be a Bravo fan; I miss that brief period when it was good.
Have never and will never watch Andy “Paris Hilton Eyes” Cohen – an absolute abomination. Paul Lynde 2.0
Except Paul Lynde was actually FUNNY!
I was going to say the same thing. Andy is just pathetic
Agreed to both – apologies to the spirit of Paul Lynde!
Ouch!
So much better than the actual piece of crap show.
Amen.
Bravo is a joke.
Taram Killam is on his way to becoming the new Will Ferrell
Yes, Taram is gifted, plus he is not over- the -top & annoying ,like Jim Carrey . He definitely deserves a major film career ( along with Bill Hader ) . I have been a fan of Killam’s since his breakout work in MTV’s ” Wild – N- Out”. Hoping for the best.
Big overstatement. Bet? Guy is going nowhere. Lacks the natural funny of Will. Will can stand there and he’s funny. The great ones are. Taram is not funny. He is silly.
When I first saw a trailer for this guy’s show I thought it was a joke. He’s completely lacking in any kind of charisma and comes across as just plain stupid and vain. And then to discover he basically runs Bravo… it all fell into place.
But someone must be watching.
I think the core problem comes down to vanity and mutual masturbation of famous and public figures. Over the years Cohen actively sought out friendships with a host of stars. Eventually this association translated into (as least to a naive segment) the belief that Cohen must really be important! So then we start hearing/reading about him more. THEN he’s given his own show so he can interview (read: show off) all his celeb “buds.” THEN the machine really starts to go nuts and his name gets tossed around as the possible “new Regis.” As if! By this point he starts to look as a real success and someone who matters. Which outside of his family, he certainly does not.
Ahahaha! That’s called SUCCESS in Hollywood, my friend. Welcome! It’s all about failing upward. Trust me, once you’ve seen it a few hundred times it stops bothering you.
Reasonable people can reasonably disagree on these things. As an individual, Cohen, much like Ryan Seacrest, annoys and grates on me.
But as a host, I respect the fact that, just like Seacrest, he can be entertaining and can keep an interview moving along.
If you don’t watch the Bravo shows, you probably won’t like him. But there are many people like myself who do.
Andy isn’t for everyone. And I agree, if you do watch the shows on Bravo when interviewing guests on his show he says what everyone’s thinking. The show is corny (i think that’s partially intentional) but he does a decent job of being a respectful host, yet not pulling punches when asking the “hard” questions. All of the shows are brainless channel chow, so as far as a Bravo personality goes, he fits. Doesn’t bother me at akk that he’s also the man in charge over there. Why not? He’s got the connections. It is astonishing the caliber Hollywood guests he manages to get booked on the shows though…
Blame the success of Housewives on the American public. As long as these Housewife loving idiots find this crap entertaining, we’ll have Andy Cohen.
I luv Andy Cohen , he’s so adorable and cuddily cute. Snl skit was hi larious, my favorite gestures of Andy recreated.
Thanks Nikki for calling out Bravo for being awful. It’s a never ending stream of shows filled with talentless people who want to be famous just for being famous. So I guess Andy Cohen is the perfect face for this empty, pointless cable channel.
Back in the 80′s, BRAVO was an arts channel that showed foreign film classics like Fellini and Visconti uncut and commercial free. It truly was an arts network with concerts and documentaries. I personally haven’t watched it in over 20 years.
I know, I miss having a channel like that.
One has to question how and why the head of development creates a show for himself…egomania clouding his judgement. Yes!
He makes me embarrassed to be gay at times. :-/ The worst part about his particular brand of douche-ness is that he tries to pretend it doesn’t exist. At least the casts of A-List: Dallas & New York are loud and proud about their douchey-ness. But Cohen is like in the douche closet. Andy, please come out! (Funny, it’s always the ones that are the most obvious that take the longest to come out…)
He’s not out ? your kidding ? Is there anyone any gayer ?
You missed what Kris is saying….completely.
Yeah, I don’t think that he is in the closet. He mentions that he is gay all the time on the show.
No, no, Andy is totally out. He’s talked about it before on the show. Not sure if he’s out of the douche closet though.
Bravo serves a purpose. Keeps all the empty headed no talent wannabes employed.
Perfect send up or blasting of Cohen and Bravo..lol
SNL should get an Emmy for this skit alone.
After Gordon Ramsay, Andy Cohen is my least favorite person ON television. And after SallyAnn Salsano, he’s my least favorite person IN television.
It’s almost freaky how often I agree with Nikki.
I have been embarrassed for and about Cohen for years. I’ve sat back in horror as he became more ubiquitous and rich from basically being an idiot among idiots. Anyone who thinks a gig refereeing the loons from Housewives is creatively satisfying, nevermind something to be proud of, lacks any substance. Cohen is a paid goof and clearly fine with that as long as the checks keep coming. Bravo, Bravo.
Andy Cohen is God’s gift to the entertainment industry. His programs are insightful, thought-provoking and good old fashioned American fun. The bottom line is you’re all just jealous of his success. He belongs on Mount Rushmore along with Sarah Palin and Tyler Perry.
I agree! Everyone should stop hating on Andy just because he’s famous. You’re all just mad because he’s making money off of something you don’t agree with. I personally don’t like ALL of the shows on Bravo, but it doesn’t give me a reason to hate so bad on someone.
Beep Boop, I think Insane Asylum Inmate was being facetious. As if his “name” didn’t give it away.
I’m just going to say all of you people take yourselves WAY too seriously if you’re hating on Andy Cohen and Bravo. Lighten up! Why are you hating on Bravo? Successful professionals make you green with envy?
I am assuming that you’ve not actually read many of the above posts.
O. M. G. I cannot believe you guys are hating on Andy Cohen. Cohen must be pulling well into the 7-figures for salary. He’s made the Bravo viable if insipid. Now Cohen is becoming a household name himself – another questionable talent-having celeb. Come on? Are you guys jealous? I don’t get it. He is doing what Hollywood has done for movies – making them so middle-of-the-road that it should be called predictable roadkill.
I don’t see how he’s any worse than Regis Philbin or god awful Kelly Rippa.
I kind of love how much shit Bravo takes, yet millions of Americans spend hours watching cars drive in circles around a track. Sorry, but one thing is no dumber than the other.
Reading a few of the more recent posts makes me think Andy got wind of this thread and is using his 14 teen yr old female alter ego to balance the majority opinion.
