With NBC’s The Voice heading into the homestretch of its second season, it looks like NBC is doing the same on new deals with star coaches Adam Levine, Cee-Lo, Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera. I hear the pacts with Levine, Cee-Lo and Shelton are pretty much done, with Aguilera’s getting there too. Still, there is a lot of scheduling details to iron out as NBC is eying The Voice for fall next season. I hear the quartet are all getting salary bumps, with Levine, Cee-Lo and Shelton moving up to in the high seven-figure range per season, and Aguilera, who started off higher, still expected to cut the biggest paycheck. While it has been declining in the ratings for the last several weeks following a blazing start after the Super Bowl, The Voice remains NBC’s strongest non-football performer by a mile and is expected to be an anchor for the network’s schedule next season.

Damn–they should really have considered rotating out a couple of judges and getting some new ones in to keep it fresh. Cee-Lo, in particular, contributes the least as far as judging goes (though performance-wise, he’s probably the best). Their choices are starting to become predictable.
They should try to steal Seal or Keith Urban from the Aussie version.
High seven figures? NBC should have their heads examined
NBC should make Ceelo’s cat one of the judges. I’m sure she won’t ask for too much salary except a can of tuna.
They are going to pull a Millionaire, if they are not careful. The Voice needs to remain like Idol, only one season per T.V. Season, either in the Spring or Fall. Too many competition shows, means The Voice is sure to be cancelled if NBC doesn’t watch their scheduling moves….
Are you guys joking? NBC needs to focus on surviving next season. Sure, The Voice be more sustainable on an Idol pattern, but NBC doesn’t have that luxury.
The Voice will burn out, and soon. It’s already declining as NBC has extended the run. Now another season in a few months? Against a fresh new season of programming? It’s a bad choice! (sung to the melody of “this is the voice.”)
This show needs to be moved back to tuesdays. It has been losing week to week to a new low each week for the past six weeks from 20 million viewers and an 8 demo to a 10 million viewers and a 3.7 demo — monday’s competition is too harsh with Dancing with the stars and cbs comedies and Tuesdays has NO reality competition. NBC needs this show to grow and not be a flash in the pan series like NBC”s other monday shows — heroes and the event.
I agree with you on the point you made about the show being moved back to Tuesdays. NBC needs to put this on Tuesdays come the fall, but remember that Dancing with the Stars airs in the fall as well. This will however, give NBC a Tuesday night with The Voice and Smash and it can put 4 comedies on Monday with a Drama. Those comedies would be 1600 Penn, Isabel, The New Normal, and Table for Three (provided they all get picked up to series). The drama could be Chicago Fire or County (provided those get picked up to series).
I guess I’m the only one to say this:
Congrats to all at the Voice. I Love the coaches and the hijinks they give each other.
I have been watching the Voice since it started last year. I wanted to firstly say that the concept is wonderful. You have a GREAT SHOW! You choose the singers based on there VOICE rather then there appearance. There is a lot of competition now as far as music talent shows go and I would hope that you continue your concept. I HAVE ONE HUGE DISLIKE…yes and only one. You really need to get Christina Aguilera OFF the show as a judge. She lacks class, constantly fighting with one of piers (Adam) and further more here clothes that she chooses to wear on tv are disgraceful and in poor taste. Doesn’t she care that there are family’s watching this show. It comes across as “her wanting to be in charge…or the LEAD judge” and she is far from that. I have always been a fan of hers but up until this show, she really disgust me. I really hope you the creators of the show read this comments. I have nothing against her all I am saying is that she represents the show poorly. Thank you…A fan of your show!
I think that the judges now are so much better than Celo and Christina. It is so much fun watching the show now. I agree with Lee Peters about Christina, she does not have the figure for the clothes she wears. Celo is so dull.
