With Sarah Palin as a guest host, NBC’s Today on Tuesday averaged 5.5 million viewers, up 8% from the show’s Monday edition. Today also edged ABC’s Good Morning America (5.1 million), which featured Palin’s enemy Katie Couric as guest host. (GMA also was up from Monday, by 6%.) Among adults 25-54, Today drew 2.2 million yesterday vs. 1.9 milluon for GMA. Today has now won the first two mornings it faced former star Couric on GMA, though ABC News notes that GMA‘s ratings gap with Today has been smaller than the season averages.

LOL…the real story here is how far Couric has fallen since leaving the Today Show. Her upcoming talk show is going to tank big time.
Not surprising, Palin’s fan base can be formidable. Of course, one wonders how Today would done without the stunt-casting.
Audience? NO. This is like when you see a crash on the side of the road. You can’t but look.
Put her on every day and see if it lasts.
Her fan base? Compare her book sales from her 1st release to her second. Tremendous difference. Compare her ratings/tv appearances. Tremendous difference. The difference being lower sales less viewers. She’s not relevant.
I wouldn’t go so far as to call Katie “not relevant” but her fan base seems to have all but vanished after leaving The Today Show. This doesn’t bode well for her upcoming show.
Like i said, there are so many negative comments about sarah palin but she has got a lot of fans and supporters and like it or not, she is a force.
Sometimes people just can’t keep from watching train wrecks and accidents on the highway. Nothing to do with quality, but with expectations of something weird happening or being said. NBC and the Today Show jumped the shark long ago, this is just making things look worse.
Who wouldn’t want to tune in to see someone so dumb she once claimed man walked with dinosaurs?

Sarah Palin, no for vice president. But she could be a television star. Pair her with a fun liberal on a daily talk show and you could have a winner.
Isn’t that what they did here?
I’m not a big fan but I admit Sarah Palin looked great yesterday.
So pitiful to see her holding that newspaper as though she is reading it. The HBO film “Game Change” has such a perfectly acute portrait of her myopic vanity– it is astounding that she has managed to hang on to the ride as long as she has with so little going on upstairs… Her brand of oblique incompetence really doesn’t hold up so well on a 49 year old face though…
Pair Sarah Palin with Ryan Seacrest and let’s see what happens, that combination is explosive, it might catch people’s attention in an interesting show. Sarah can’t run for president, not even a man can solve the deficit to be fair, but she can draw an audience, and if you listen to her talk sometimes, she’s very articulate and smarter than people think….put Ryan and her together and let them go for it.
NBC, it is time for you to start winning, I got so tired of people talking about your ratings falling behind, so let’s hit the ground running NBC and start shaking things up and start winning, don’t be afraid to go ” selectively bold and edgy “…..play to win! Good luck!
I love how Sarah Palin just sticks it to the “lamestream media” . . . by selling out and taking payment for being a co-host on the most popular “lamestream media” show.
