im totally in –
looks great
Haven’t I seen this movie a hundred times before?
farrell looks great, loved the trailer and now I really want to see this movie.
Stopping remaking good movies!!!
ITA – this looks more like I Robot 2 than a remake of Total Recall
No Mutants No Mars No Movie
There are very few Arnold Swarzznegwer movies I can truly say I have enjoyed. Terminators 1 and 2, and even Commando. Included in the list is the movie “Total Recall” where Arnie bought a dream and then very quickly found himself in a world of high octane adventure. I really enjoyed it, it was well directed by Paul Verhoeven, and adequately acted by all around; it even gave us Sharon Stone for goodness sake.
Well, as imaginative as Hollywood are they have decided to do a remake. It stars Colin Farrell as Quaid but this time, if the trailer is anything to go by; he is more of a Jack Bauer kind of guy.
Why was this movie made? Is Hollywood so far gone now that it thinks there’s only remake and reboots the only way of guaranteeing success. Are they no longer going to take chances with filmmakers? I hope not. Let’s be positive and hope that this remake puts a unique spin on the story.
Looks cool. But Arnold did it better.
Bourne Legacy has got nothing to worry about.
Looks so good and sexy would much rather see than Bourne especially without Matt Damon
If it don’t got “Cohagen, give dese people aiyar!” then it don’t got my ticket.
And sorry Kate – you’re no Sharon (and your hubby ain’t no Verhoeven, either.)
“See you at the party Richter!”
GET YOUR ASS TO MARS!
second that!
open your mind quaid – open your miiinndddd
what an unnecessary remake
Another August ’80s remake flop starring a guy nobody cares about, yet continuously gets leads in projects like this.
Actually, Total Recall came out in 1990. So this film is a remake of a 90′s movie.
The Eighties didn’t really end until 1991-2, though, with the fall of the USSR, the election of Clinton, and most importantly from a cultural viewpoint, the release of Nirvana’s NEVERMIND.
You may not care but a lot of other people do Colin is an amazing actor way better than Arnold who!!!
NO NO NO. This looks bad, its like they have given it a Transformers treatment. I sed from the start it was such a stupid idea to re make total recall, i mean don’t mess with film that worked! It was a classic. And colin farrel looks way too weedy. Arnie is actually wayyy better for the role. I hope this bombs. Idiots.
This is the new movie i want to see least right now. Replacing Abe the vampire hunter.
This looks a lot worst then I thought — reminds me of judge dredd.
“a lot worse….”
no — it’s so bad, it’s WORST.
But thanks for being my Grammar Granny, Righty Tight.
Looks Awesome…. Can’t wait for the 2012 summer movies
Personally I root for Farrell, but he is box office poison. As a fan, I’d rather see him do character pieces and good supporting roles, than get stomped on when the public turns its back on his mainstream leading man attempts. I’m pretty sure this movie is also going to bomb, and once again Farrell will be getting crapped on for it. I’m dreading it.
Len Wiseman is a good director…April Fools!
One of the awesome things about the original was the awesome extreme R-rated violence that Paul Verhoeven is famous for. If they go pg-13 then they are not going to be able to top the original no matter how many newer visual fx they put in this new version. That said, I’ll be there to watch it since I’m a sci-fi and action watcher.
This makes me feel old- I saw the original in a Theater….let me guess they go to Mars and a mutant named Quaid is attached to another man’s body…..I don’t think Colin Farrell is an action star…….
That’s where you’re wrong. They don’t go to Mars in this one, they stay on good ol’ Earth.
Total Recall = total bunk.
I’ll stick with my DVD of the original, thanks.
You’re thinking of Quato. “Open your mind.”
Doesn’t look so awful. I am however a little confused by the appearance of Imperial Clones in the opening bit.
What about the “Spinners” from BLADE RUNNER?
I was expecting to hate it and they surprised me.
So it’s louder than the first one.
Kate loos great! Im not sure when she became such an action star, but shes giving Angie a run for her money in that department. Her Underworld training has done her well.
Not so hot, just lame.
i thought it was going to be different… i mean even the same lines? hmmmm…
Looks dated. But it will probably make money
I wandering when they were going to do a sequel to The Fifth Element. Bruce Willis is looking great, so young and a head full of hair again!
Any movie that has Jessica Biel punched in the face….
The original really is awesome (although I haven’t watched it in years). It’s the perfect movie for a 12-year-old boy, which I was when I first saw it. Great plot, terrific cinematography, extremely violent and stylish, lots of gadgets and machinery, a young and extremely hot Sharon Stone (pre-Basic Instinct) in a leotard, being shot in the head by Arnold (‘Consider this a divorce!’). I’m sure the original is not nearly as good as I remember it to be, which is, come to think of it, a perfectly valid reason not to rewatch it.
i saw it recently in a theater… it’s still so much fun
Looks promising.
