After the Two And A Half Men renewal went down to the wire the last two years as the show raced against the clock to lock in its leading man, first Charlie Sheen, then his replacement Ashton Kutcher, things may get done ahead of time for a change this year. Sources close to the situation say that noone at CBS, which is leading the negotiations with the actor, “is concerned that the deal would be derailed.” “It is moving in the right direction and will get done,” one source said, adding that a new pact with Kutcher and a renewal for Men will probably be announced in a few weeks. Securing Men is key to CBS’ plan to possibly expand its comedy presence on Thursday and air two-hour comedy blocks on both Monday and Thursday. Along with the renewed How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory and 2 Broke Girls, veteran Men would provide a building block for the anchor positions at 8 PM and 9 PM on both nights. As for Kutcher, who has indicated numerous times publicly that he would like to come back (“I’m absolutely adoring the time that I’m having,” he said recently at the Paley Fest), his paycheck is expected to get a bump and may cross the $1 million per episode mark.

CBS should cancel this show it stinks now and the ratings are going down lower and lower. Ashton loves the easy money but it’s no longer worth airing. Dump it and put a new show in its place. Give somebody new a chance nine years are enough for two and a half men.
I agree. This show has seen better days. And frankly, Ashton Kutcher is not an actor. He got that label when he married Demi Morre, who is an actor. He looks like and acts like an idiot even when he is not qued to do so. I would prefer if he would ride off into the sunset on the monkey he came in on. I own a Nikon, and I am thinking of changing brands as 15 years because Kutcher is always making idiotic commericls involving the brand. Get brand, wrong person to push it. Sorry Kutcher, you are about the most unattractive actor on TV today. Take a lesson from ALL THE ACTORS ON THE BIG BANG THEORY – now they know how to act – funny and entertaining. The network are idiots to pay Kutcher that kind of money when it is just him being him – “no acting skills requied”.
time to let this one go, CBS. We’ve had enough. But thank you.
If you are not watching it, then why do you care if it’s coming back on?
Because it sucks and it takes up air time. Does that answer your question?
Really? Ugh..That’s depressing. More of this lame, unfunny show on again next season.
It’s not lame and it’s so funny! But that’s my opinion. And I’m sure that there’s a lot of people out there that have the same opinion. I am so glad that this show is being renewed for a tenth season!
You’re pretty much alone in that opinion, I’m afraid. Charlie Sheen WAS Two and a Half Men, whether you liked him or not.
I agree about the fact that no matter what trouble Charlie Sheen has gotten into.He is still the Man. Actors are human beings not unfallible xtra terrestials .They have a right to ups and Rowns just like us. Regular people do the same crap and no body is constantly in the news giving them grief. To Err is to be human.
Please – the reason you watch it and find it “so funny” could be the very point I am making IT REQUIRES NO MIND TO WATCH IT. It is in poor taste. I have seen it twice and the second time was just to see if it was for real —– the best actor on the program is the woman who plays the housekeeper or whatever she is, that shows you how much that program stays with you. GET A BOOK!!!!
I don’t think anyone was doubting his contract would eventually be renewed. I think what people really want to know is whether the show is being renewed for a final season, or whether Kutcher and Cryer are agreeing to new 2-year contracts as TV Guide reported, indicating two more seasons before the show concludes. Those 2-year contracts were reported to have a clause stating their salaries wouldn’t be raised, so if they’re close to a contract + renewal, I’m betting we’re about to hear an announcement about a final 10th season.
I stopped watching a long time ago.
Pretty much an embarrassment of a show, but I’m sure everyone wants to milk this franchise for all its worth.
Or, as Jim Morrison said, “I’m gonna get my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.”
they can crow all they want about how a success it’s been but we know the truth… those of us with ears and eyes at least. did i just offend hellen keller fans? and the show got it’s lowest rating ever this week… 5 months after starting off with like 30 million viewers and the perfect chance for a relaunch etc… but you know what… it’s not the first show or last show to keep going way way way beyond it’s creative years… we’ll survive
Episode 24 of season 4 had the lowest ratings ever.
After watching a couple of episodes in the stupid new format (man-child with gay admirer) I tuned out felt sure it would wither to nothing and go away. I’m really surprised to hear about any kind of renewals. Has the show gotten better or something?
I, like most people think the show is just awful. The thing I just don’t get is all of the talk about rerun rights and how much money each new episode is worth…Blah. If all that is true, how do these new episodes fit into that deal. For the most part 2.5 men was a show that about 80% of the episodes stand on their own, good for reruns. With the new episodes, they all seem to be linked into one big long story. These episodes will not be able to shown in reruns out of order. They will also not blend in with the old episodes with Charlie. I just wonder if all of the CBS and WB people are thinking about this issue. If I was a manager of a staion airing reruns of 2.5 men, I would not buy these episodes. Their are like some 180 episodes with Charlie. If the show goes one more season and then canceled, that only makes like 44 Ashton episodes. CBS just needs to let it go.
This is really exciting news i cant wait to see if their doing Season 10.
This excites you? Are you 12? If not get a life, get a job and above all grow up, unlike Kutcher — everyone should grow up and fly right —– it is just taking Kutcher longer because his “money train” with Demi Moore ended. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE HER IN A MOVIE, A SITCOM, ANYTHING. Mu husband and I agree, she is an actor. Yes, some of her movies were not that good. But look at Jennifer A. She is a great actor and she has had many bad movies – still a great actor.
PLEASE HAVE KUTCHER RIDE OFF ON A MONKEY IN THE LAST SHOW, THEN MAYBE I WILL WATCH IT. Or better yet, have the monkey ride off on Kutcher —— well, either way you will not be able to tell the difference, i.e. who is Kutcher and who is the monkey.
Why would CBS renew 2&1/2 Men?As noted by someone else, they dropped to an all-time low after the numbers they first had to start the season. They gotta let it go already. Why drag it out 4 another season? If it’s not renewed, one of the most rude, lewd,&,crude shows will be gone. But,not to fret-I’m sure CBS is already developing their next nasty comedy.
The only way this show’s ratings and quality could go back to its glory days is bringing back Charlie Sheen. Time has passed. It’s time for both Charlie and Chuck Lorre to both grow up and get back to working together again.
I agree the first 5-8 eps with Ashton were sluggish, but I bet anyone hating in the show hasn’t watched the last 10 eps. They’ve figured out Ashton’s character and it’s actually hysterical. They’re a smart group and it’s only getting better. I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes 2 weeks ago.
Please put us out of our misery and drop this hideous example of a sitcom with no talent Ashton Kutcher.
What’s with the hate here? I look forwarrd to seeing sesson 10. Don’t watch it if you hate it so much. Enough whining already. Whi cares about what you think?
On that note, who cares what YOU think either?
Actually,I care what Susan thinks. She’s absolutely right. The best way I could ever describe 2 & 1/2 Men is that it caters to the lowest common denominator. Imho the show has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
Of course, you are just another hater on the internet. You probably hated the idea of Kutcher replacing Sheen to begin with. The real world does not care about a few haters think. You are like an old man who sticks to the landline and refuses to use a smart phone. Lowest common deniminator?? Oh please, I do not care what you think, Chuck Lorre certainly doesn’t. Don’t like the show, go watch HBO’s Girls or something and quick whining and bitching already.
Spot on. The writing was ok the first episodes, but it is getting better by the episode. Those haters just a whole bunch of whiners who are too caught up with Sheen. I admit Sheen is irreplacable, but Seanson 10 will be better I believe.
The show has no redeeming quality? Says who? Your opinion, not a fact.
Just as your opinion is not fact. The same rules go for you, you know. If you don’t like reading honest reviews, then don’t read them.
It’s not about being a “hater” it’s about how networks will drag on with these shows long past their due date instead of giving new writers a chance to show their talents. So often the networks will hang on to the success the show used to have and refuse to let it go off the air at the height of its success i.e.. The Office when they can replace it with something fresh and new. New talent, new writers, new ideas…
But instead they’ll sink more and more money into a show that just irks people.
Charlie is two and a half men.without him d show is dead.
they can cancel that show i don’t watched nomore since charlie sheen letf ashton kutcher is not a good actor he’s bored he don’t fit in that show alan is the one lol
