ABC is finalizing a development deal for a multi-camera comedy project starring and executive produced by Tony Danza and executive produced by Vince Vaughn. The project, eyed for the next development cycle, is based on an idea by Danza and his manager Dan Farah. It revolves around three guys who are old friends but whose lives took different paths. Now the three, looking for a fresh start, move into a bachelor pad near their children and grandkids. “It’s intended to be a funny and honest comedy about getting older, generational differences, and the message that it’s never too late to start a new chapter in life,” Danza said. Search is underway for a writer to pen the script. Vaughn is executive producing with his producing partner at Wild West Picture Show Prods. Peter Billingsley as well as Danza and Farah. This would mark Danza’s return to ABC, where he starred in the hit comedies Who’s The Boss? and Taxi. He also recurred on The Practice.

Hold me closer, Tony Danza — on ABC!
As if Vince Vaughn wasn’t in danger already of becoming irrelevant. Tony Danza? Who cares? He couldn’t get a ONE share for his reality show!
Are viewers going to continue to go see an actor like Vince Vaughn who can ONLY act like Vince Vaughn? Oh. Well, as long as Vince is producer you’ll see Vince “acting?” He’s too predictable. And Tony should… get some ‘out-of-character’ roles that show he can really act; time for a new talent agent?
How many shows is Vaughn producing now? Isn’t this like the third to be announced in as many weeks? I remember a dominatrix thing with FX, and something else last week.
Great pairing sure to bring out the best in each other.
They’re both, bullies, egomaniacs and talentless.
Legs will be broken.
tony danza? lmfao.
It’s James Spader, Kathy Bates, Paul Reiser, Tim Allen etc etc etc all over. Talented at what they do/did at some point in time but absolute demo crushing in 2012. Just don’t get what ABC is thinking. How about going another 3 cycles without developing a comedy to pair with Modern Family.
Tony: Who’s the boss?
Vince: You’re so boss and you don’t even know it.
America: zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
well said….
Crazy how two guys that are so unfunny get paid so well to do so little. My only fear is that your comment may be wrong, and all the network-comedy-watching sheep here in America will actually love it.
(Sigh…)Oh well could be worse right?
LOL @ “20-something ideal demographic.”
Wasn’t it your demo that drove Conan O’Brien straight to basic cable?
Your demo doesn’t watch, it pirates.
Old folks still watch TELEVISION
Gimme a break.
I think it is great the two of them teaming up. You guys are the greatest. Of course some of the younger generation may not understand your comedy. They think Snooki. The Batchelor and the bing bang theory are funny. Cut me a break. Vaughn & Danza have more talent in their little finger than 90% of television out there. Has anyone noticed they are showing a lot of reruns from the past. I wonder why?
Tony Danza is back!!
Awesome!
I grew up watching Taxi and Who’s The Boss – ABC is smart to bring back an icon like Danza! And this idea sounds awesome – hopefully they work in a couple other classic actors like Tony. Could be a classic show!
Just make sure Tony plays a character named Tony he has to be named Tony so he can play himself it’s what he’s been doing for the last 30 years every show he’s ever been in his character is named Tony.
Vince plays Vince and Tony plays Tony. Hey! I wanna be an actor too – I can play me!
Isn’t this just another take at “Men of a Certain Age”? Been there, done that…
I know this will be multi-camera,but, they may want to have a laughtrack handy-in case the audience falls asleep. If they really wanna go all-out, Abc should pair this up with that Last Man Standing. Then you would truly have one of the worst hours on tv.
Love Tony Danza!
If they’re lucky maybe Vaughn will make a bloated appearance. SNORE.
Watch your mouth if you want Blackhawks tickets! LOL.
Tony Danza is a sitcom legend. This is where he belongs! And this idea sounds like a funny, classic feeling laugh track comedy, nothing like the one hour drama that was called Men of A Certain Age. I’m a meathead from jersey and even i can tell that.
AWESOME!!
Danza is a total guys guy. If the other two roles are casted smartly, this could end up being the only classic feeling guys guys multi cam comedy on tv. I love this! It could be like GOLDEN GIRLS with guys. GENIUS!!
This idea is simple and great. Golden Girls for guys. I love it. Danza is awesome, but the other two guys have to be awesome too. Excited to see how this comes together.
Actually really excited about this, grew up watching who’s the boss.. Happy Tony is back!
same here
Actually sounds really funny. There is tons of material to mine from the multi-generational comedy and old people dating and stuck in their ways. Excited to check out!
It’s The Golden Guys!

Here’s a great title: MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE!
Love Danza …sitcom gold!
Two guys who look in the mirror and still magically see what they saw 20 years ago…
They are both so wonderfully funny. I hope it does well.
This could be hilarious. Perfect concept for danza to return to half hour comedy in.
Danza is back!! This is awesome.
The networks have clearly run out of ideas and are relying on star power to draw in viewers. I predict a bloodbath in cancellations…
