After eight seasons on ABC, Desperate Housewives ended last night on a ratings swell. The soap series’ two-hour finale (3.2/8) was up 19% from last week, making it the show’s best rating in over a year and the most watched-show overall among viewers on TV last night. The ladies of Wisteria Lane weren’t the only finales on the block: Once Upon A Time (3.2/10), the 8 PM lead-in to Housewives, ended its maiden season up 7% from last week. The two ABC shows were tied as Sunday’s top show in adults 18-49. ABC won the night in adults 18-49 and was the most-watched network.
On CBS, Survivor (2.8/8) garnered a harsh vote from viewers with its lowest rating ever. The two-hour finale was down 30% from last spring’s season ender. The one-hour Reunion (2.4/6) was down 29% from last year to make it the reality show’s lowest-rated reunion ever. Fox’s American Dad (2.0/5) also ended its season Sunday, down 13% from last week. NBC’s now-cancelled Harry’s Law (1.0/3) was up 25% over last week.
In the 7 PM slot, Fox’s Simpsons (0.9/4) was a repeat, but a new Deadline (0.8/3) on NBC was up 14% from last week while 60 Minutes (1.2/5) fell 25% for a season low and ABC’s America’s Funniest Home Videos (1.6/6) was down 20%. Fox’s animated Sunday saw most of its shows, with the exception of Bob’s Burgers, down. The Cleveland Show (1.3/5) was down 7%. At 8 PM, the new Simpsons (1.9/6) dropped 14% and Family Guy (2.3/6) was down 15% from last week. Bob’s Burgers (1.8/5) was flat with last week . NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice (1.8/5) dipped 5% as the Donald Trump series whittled its contestants down to two heading into next week’s finale.
