UPDATE 7:20 PM: The Bachelor has just been been renewed too, joining Shark Tank and Dancing With the Stars.
PREVIOUS: After ABC just renewed the obvious suspects on the scripted side, it is their reality counterparts’ turn. The network has picked up for next season veteran Dancing With The Stars as well as rising star Shark Tank, which has been performing great on Fridays, ranking as the top program of the night this past Friday, beating CBS’ Undercover Boss. For the first time in its run, Shark Tank has been given a full-season pickup I hear. No renewal yet for ABC staple The Bachelor, but it’s coming as deals are being finalized. Dancing hails from BBC Worldwide Prods., Shark Tank from Sony Pictures TV.

Damn shame ABC saw fit to renew this crap Shark Tank for another year…OK, fine but get some better people there to act like adults instead of spoiled children who play investors on this show.
If they want to bring high ratings back to “Dancing with the Stars” they need to do a total overhaul. Get rid of the judges and get new ones (more objective ones). Get rid of Brooke Burke and replace her with someone with personality. And stop giving the better contestants to these particular pros who always get ringers. Rotate it. That’s all.
I teach entrepreneurship course at the college level and Shark Tank is required viewwing.. It is part of my lesson plan.
dancing needs an all star season… and the level of “star” power is obv fading. i’m fine with b and c stars but they really have started dropping to d and e.
i stopped watching when they got political with their picks… tom delay? palin? i just couldn’t do it.
I am so glad to hear that Dancing With The Stars has been renewed! My family and I love this show and make a point to watch it together. DWTS is one of the few shows that 2 pre-schoolers, 3 twenty somethings & two 50 yr olds can all watch and enjoy. We critique it and laugh as the pre-schoolers “dance” along. Jamison loves tuxes with tails, so if a dancer has on tails, Jamison is happy, “nice tails” he will say.
I do get tired of the old comment of how some dancers always seem to get “stars” that already know how to dance. I disagree. It may seem that way but not all “stars” are dancers. Especially ballroom dance which is totally different from hip hop, ballet, jazz, tap, etc. With the renewal I hope that also means that Maks and Derek will be coming back. They are my favorites. Maks gets that bad attitude rap and Derek is the one that seems to always have the best partners. Going to the show in person can change how one feels. Maks is far from a bad boy with a bad attitude. You should see him during the commercial breaks and such, He loves to tease and is always laughing, smiling, jumping around and just being silly. I love watching him and love talking to him even more. Now if I could just dance with him.
As for Derek, I could watch him dance forever! He is amazing and improved greatly when he went to film in Canada. He is good at bringing the best out in his partners. No, not all of them have been dancing all their lives or are also professionals. Some people are better than others at teaching, know how to bring the best out, that’s Derek. I don’t see him show off, I see a nice young man with a true talent.
I have no comment on Shark Tank. Don’t watch it .
Bachelor, cancel it PLEASE! Cannot stand all the ads about it and truly cannot stand the show and all involved with it. That goes for the Bachelorette also. They can both go.
OK, I will shut up now… thanks for reading me…
Don’t think you got read. That’s way to many paragraphs to be commenting on deadline unless you’re doing a major character assassination on someone that works in the industry.
I love Shark Tank! I’m glad it got renewed. I wished they’d do more updates on the businesses who did or did not get offers, though. I’m really interested in seeing how things pan out for the people who go on the show.
Agreed. Love the pitches but I love to see the “catching up” segments even more. Although I must say, it’s more fulfilling to see the people who have become successful DESPITE the sharks.
It would also be good to see those entrepreneurs who were told by the sharks to give up their horrible business idea…and they took their advice.
One caveat — the sharks are too hard on those who have no or low sales just yet. A lot of these people have great ideas, great products and a head for business but they’re just not salespeople. Nothing wrong with that; they need the sharks, that’s why they’re there!
Why not throw the dancing stars AND the bachelor in the shark tank (with real sharks) to rid us of the three most boring shows at once?
All the reality shows are loaded with c-d list stars. If they were really famous, they would be too busy on their own shows or doing movies.
I love Shark Tank. Never miss it. But I do miss the infomercial guy who was replaced by Mark Cuban. Cuban just doesn’t do it for me. But watching those pitches and seeing what some people come up with is appointment tv viewing for me.
So glad to see Shark Tank renewed. But I agree, bring back the Kevin who is the infommercial guy, the other Kevin can go…he is upnotcious!
What about The Bachelorette?
DWTS
We have heard that next season #15 they are planning on having previous contestants. I sure hope they don’t have previous winners. It would be great to have runner ups but it wouldn’t be fair to have previous winners unless you had all winners going against each other. I and my friends would love to see Mel B, Mario Lopez, Jerry Rice, Stacey Keebler and people like that, that came in second or third place. That would be great to watch. Please consider.
Thank you
Yes Im so glad Shark Tank will return! One of my favorite shows. Favorite song and dance has to be Mark Cuban and the ” I want to draw a cat for you” guy. Priceless
