2ND UPDATE: The deal for Last Man Standing has closed too, and the freshman series will return for a second season, likely paired with Reba McEntire’s Malibu Country.
UPDATE: Private Practice has now been officially renewed too. I hear the order is for 13 episodes for what will likely be the medical drama’s final season. The pickup means that all of Shonda Rhimes’ three series on the air are coming back, following last night’s renewal of Grey’s Anatomy and this afternoon’s renewal of Scandal. After spending most of its run behind Grey’s, Private Practice was recently relocated to Tuesdays where it took over the slot of Body Of Proof, also just renewed for 13 episodes.

OUS: ABC has closed a deal with 20th Century Fox TV to renew midseason comedy Don’t Trust The B—- In Apt. 23 for a second season. The deals for two other series, freshman comedy Last Man Standing and veteran drama Private Practice are now being finalized and should close soon too.

Good news about Don’t Trust the B-. Still hoping for Malibu Country, which seems a fitting companion to Last Man Standing, if they’re trying to work that deal.
The ‘Bitch’ is back, that was one cool move, ABC ! Now change your mind and renew GCB ! And producers, if ABC is really out, then target CW or Lifetime ! It’s almost 2.0 demo average would make it a superstar on either of those networks! This show has tremendous potential !
I’m happy the B is back. I’ve only watched the last 2 episodes but will be watching from now on. Krysten Ritter is fabulous in this role and I think it’s definitely one of the funniest shows on right now. It’s kind of offbeat, so I can understand it not being for everyone.
It’s doubtful GCB could pull a 2.0 demo on either CW or Lifetime.
What about Missing? Hope it gets renewed.
You are the ONLY one who is hoping for that.
No, missing was a good show, bad time slot, poor demos. but ashley judd was full on double jeopardy mode. I hope it gets resolved.
Missing is MIA. It’s cancelled along with Pan Am and the River
Missing was terrible – and ABC knew it before they even put it on the schedule. Never had a chance. It’s not even mentioned in any stories as cancelled or renewed – because it was never an option. Moving on…
I tried hard to like Apt 23 but couldn’t get into it. Hope PP gets a final season renewal.. The show isn’t as good as it once was but I’d like to see everyone’s storylines wrapped up.
The second episode is laugh out loud funny, the other episodes haven’t been as great, i do like the cast of apt 23
Shonda Rhimes just tweeted PP picked up.
So happy for all involved that the bitch is back!!!
How many episodes for the Bitch?
awesome news about bitch in apt 23!!! i luv that bitch!!!
I hope Last Man Standing gets picked up. I really like that show.
I’m guessing that Don’t Trust the B—-‘s renewal means that the six unscheduled episodes from the first season’s 13-episode order will likely air in the fall than be burned off over the summer, which probably would’ve happened if it were canceled.
Apartment 23 is back- thank heavens! Love me some Van Der Beek. <3
THE BITCH!! so happy because its seriously the best comedy new thats out there. K-ritz is the queen B
Hopefully it is not the end of PP, maybe it will over perform and ABC will pick up the rest of the season.
Deal is done. LAST MAN STANDING is now renewed as well.
Surprised Private Practice was renewed after their dismal showing this past week, but at least it will be finished by this time next year. Missing is toast and with Body of Proof renewed, say good-bye to GCB as ABC is already over-burdened with serialized drams and such. Apt 23 had a 50-50 chance for renewal and by their ratings the last few episodes being decent, that’s what helped their renewal chances.
Apt 23 has to be the worst comedy this year and it only does good when modern family airs in front next season will be its last
My guess is that ABC pairs “Happy Endings” and “Don’t Trust…” on Tuesdays starting at 9:00, with the “DWTS” results show at 8:00. Sarah Chalke’s comedy get’s the prime post-”Modern Family” slot, with the rest of the shows going on Friday and/or held to midseason.
Perhaps I am wrong about the night, but those two shows seem perfect for one another as far tone goes. There’s no reason to put these shows on Monday or Friday–the latter is obviously home to what I believe be will an attempted TGIF reboot. Nor is there reason to uproot “The Middle” or put them into the fray on Thursdays. Perhaps they could try for Sunday; it’d be a risky move, but perhaps smart, seeing as how no network besides Fox is likely to have comedies there.
Bitch got a 13 order for the 2nd season. Very funny show.
K ritz!!!!! The bitch!!!
