This looks absolutely dreadful.
Agreed. The story is bad, the CGI looks a mess, and it evoked no emotional reaction whatsoever. After seeing it, I feel empty inside.
I could have lived forever and not seen this trailer (get it, live forever?)
Very cool they are showing this on the ship……
This looks AMAZING! I wish I could see it TODAY!
But I’ll probably go for Avengers instead. Guess I need to see that sooner or later, huh?
Must admit: This is by far the best trailer I’ve yet seen for this flick.
I haven’t read the book, I have no idea about the following or fan base, but I’m just wondering – who is looking forward to this movie? Is it projected to be successful? I saw the trailer recently in a theater and it was met with confused silence; then I saw an article in the LA Times with a group of teens rating summer trailers and they thought it was the most ridiculous thing ever – who does that leave? Honestly, I’m curious to know why certain ideas get made into movies and others don’t….
I’m looking forward to it! Target is 20s-30s action horror fans. Book has a big following. It’s R.
I am definitely looking forward to it! And I read the book and loved it.
I enjoyed “Wanted” but this looks bad on a “Van Helsing” level.
Looks hilariously terrible.
This is really gonna crush any chances for George Washington: Zombie Hunter to get greenlit, huh?
Ha Ha! Hope this doesn’t step on my “Ben Franklin Werewolf Whisper” project
I heard it’s so bad Fox is putting “Mother Theresa: Warlock Crusher” in turn-around…
I thought Anthony Mackie was one of the leads? He is third on the credits. Can someone please explain to me why I haven’t seen him in any trailers? I love everything this boy does!
the last thing they want to show is the actual plot – that slaves (anthony mackie) are being used as food by the vampires. The political uproar that would come from exploiting slavery for populist, commercial fodder like this would be apocalyptic.
Common sense would indicate that Mackie is most likely playing a slave related character, and Fox wants you to believe that the secret vampire nation is much scarier than racism and slavery, thus the need to hide him in the promotional materials.
I’m looking forward to Millard Filmore; Ballerina
The reviews for Seth Grahame-Smith’s books and past work speak volumes. He is criminally untalented.
The reviews for all three of his books have actually been quite good. The new one just got a splashy thing in EW. No idea what to expect from the movie but if there is a problem, my guess is that it is not the writing.
If you look to EW for your literary criticism, then you’re surely this movie’s target market.
If this movie is targetting people who never get past the level of EW’s literary criticism, it should do very well, since that’s what, 95% of the population? Since when does Hollywood care about lit-cha?
This does not look good. I haven’t read the book, but it seems like everything you need to know about the movie is in the title. Really no reason to see it.
Although I do kind of hope it prompts The Asylum to finally make that Grover Cleveland movie everyone has been clamoring for
I couldn’t agree more. He is an excellent actor who doesn’t get enough credit.
I think Grahame-Smith is a hacky one-note writer who won’t have a long career in this industry. That said, holy fuck does this look cool. Timur is a great director, Walker looks good. I wasn’t excited for this but the trailers look awesome. Who gives a flying fuck if it’s ridiculous? It’s Abe Lincoln killing vampires. I’m so fucking in.
This is my kinda guy. I am I. For the same reasons, and thesis the first trailer that made any sense.
I read the script. Save your money.
What can I say? That looks like a blast. That, Prometheus, and TDKR are the only absolute must-sees for me this summer.
One of these things is not like the other…
Marvel corrected history to show the mutant faction behind the Cuban missile crisis.
Now we learn that the civil war was about vampires wanting their own country.
Soon we’ll learn real story behind Henry David Thoreau battling and vanquishing the lake monsters of Walden Pond.
I’d rather see a movie about Henry David Thoreau battling and vanquishing the lake monsters of Walden Pond. At least that’s believable.
LOL
Quentin Taratino has his own version of antebellum history coming out soon. It will make this movie look like a Ken Burns documentary.
I like horror done right. Don’t mind parody or mixed genres. This looks pretty bad and maybe downright insulting to the memory of one of our legends. If this is comedic, then I missed it in this trailer.
Looks simply dreadful.Join “john Carter”…
Whats next… JFK DRAGON SLAYER, LBJ MEETS DRACULA!
And you wonder why bad things keep happening, with HOLLYWOOD continuing to play its part in dumbing down the masses even more!
Man, that looks to be lame and awful. Hipster BS sessions run amok.
Yep, still looks dumb.
This movie has “BOMB” written all over it. How much did they spend on this piece of shit?
Budget was $70m
so abraham lincoln was also a vampire hunter… huh, who would have guessed. did mary know? maybe that’s why she was so bummed all the time. anyway look forward to the vod release to see how you fit a square peg, etc.. good luck with this one.
My college-age nephews are talking about this.
Coming soon…FDR: HULK.
Hitler smash!
