Up-and-comer Betsy Sodaro has been upped to a regular on NBC’s new single-camera comedy series Animal Practice, which stars Justin Kirk as a House-like veterinarian, who loves animals but usually hates their owners. Sodaro plays Angela, an animal handler. She was a guest star in the pilot, her first ever, and after a strong showing has landed a promotion to her first series regular role. Sodaro is with 3 Arts. Animal Practice, which is recasting its female lead, launches this fall in the Wednesday 8 PM slot. Here is the trailer for the show, which briefly features Sodaro.

Honestly I have to agree. Kirk is an acquired taste and his last 7 1/2 years on “Weeds” has proven that he only shines with the right co-stars, and she wasn’t doing it.
Betsy is a hurricane of comedic talent. Great call upping her to regular!

This is great news, Betsy Sodaro is one of the funniest undiscovered talents around. The trailer doesn’t do her justice, she’s gonna kill it.
Now that Chyler Leigh is free of her duty on Grey’s Anatomy, NBC should cast her in the leading role on Animal Practice. She would have a great screen chemistry with Justin Kirk.
She was my coach at UCB and she’s no up and comer she’s a star, watch out Melissa McCarthy.
