Brendan Gleeson and Abbie Cornish will star in An Ordinary Man, with Brad Silberling directing his script. The drama revolves around the relationship between a war criminal in hiding and his maid, who becomes his only human contact. Shooting will begin this fall, and Radiant Films International president and CEO Mimi Steinbauer will sell at Cannes. Silberling is producing with Chris Miller, James Burke and Michael Richter, with David Lonner exec producing. Pic will shoot in Belgrade, Serbia.

Didn’t Silberling’s film “12 Items of Less” have the same male/female dynamic? Older Guy who is out of touch meets a younger woman with no power who is part of the working class and therefore more wise. She helps him.
He’s writing his own life I guess. His stories tend to be very small and laden with minutia that doesn’t quite add up into big drama. Just more small moments. It’s his signature.
Totally love this Abbie Cornish lady. So appealing and such a nice graceful actress. Know what’s a movie that didn’t get its due? Madonna’s “W.E.” Gorgeous sumptuousness set within the realm of the prosaic, many very interesting touches in and about it. And it has Abbie Cornish. Madonna deserves a shot at directing again. As a movie director she was subtle. Made me like her even more actually.

If Brendan Gleeson is in the film, it’s a done deal!! I have to see it. He is one of the most talented actors in the business. Sexy too!!
