UPDATE: I have now also confirmed the cancellation of NYC 22, which is joining fellow departed rookies Unforgettable and A Gifted Man and veteran CSI: Miami.

PREVIOUS: CBS has started the housecleaning after picking up four new drama series and two comedies. The network has canceled freshmen Unforgettable and A Gifted Man. I have not confirmed a cancellation for NYC 22, but that is considered a given. A Gifted Man star Patrick Wilson took to Twitter to comment on the cancellation. “So…shocking to no one: A Gifted Man is done. Found out via email…and not from the network. Stay classy….Now that it’s “official,” I couldn’t be happier. As good as it was (sometimes) it was not what I signed on for.”

I sure won’t miss Unforgettable. It was the worst show on CBS. I had to give up on it 4 episodes in because I was dizzy from rolling my eyes so much.
I love Unforgettable. I will miss the show.
I really don’t like it when a show is cancelled. They leave you hanging at the end. They could at least wrap it up a few episodes like they did with Brothers and Sisters, Desperate Housewives and so on. they never ask me what shows I like. Most of my friends watch the same shows and then they are cancelled. We all loved A Gifted Man and Against the Wall. I am amazed at the crap coming on for next season. Get rid of Wives of..and all the reality shows. They are stupid. Get back to real comedy like I love lucy and Seinfeld. Look at all ages, not just the young…they seem to prefer the stupid reality shows.
I love “UNFORGETABLE”!!! Do Not cancel, please.
I am so sorry to hear that Unforgettable is cancelled. It was a great show. I hope you reconsider or at least have a finale to it.
This was the best new show. You don,t know what you are talking about.
Whatever happened to moving a show to a different time slot to see if they can pick up more viewers. The three shows that they are cancelling are good shows, not great or exceptional. However, they are far above most of the mundane shows on the air, especially the reality shows. The US TV industry feels that shows must be dumbed down to entice viewers and for those of us with minds most of the shows are a great waste. That is why I much prefer British TV, which requires a great deal more intellect. No, I am not a snob, it is just that there is a great deal of waste on the TV here, and yes, I used to live over in the UK and would move back in a heartbeat if I could find suitable employment.
Funny, Brits generally love US TV and deplore their industry. They also hate doing all the costume dramas.
“That is why I much prefer British TV, which requires a great deal more intellect.”
Most people who actually LIVE here in the UK, this writer included, would disagree (and let’s not forget Britain is one of the biggest buyers of American TV shows on the planet).
Lets not forget the Brits created the original version of almost every reality shown in the states Dragon’s Den=Shark Tank, Big Brother= Big Brother, Pop Idol= American Idol, Strictly Come Dancing= Dancing with the Stars. So before we fawn over british television lets not forget the annoying surge of reality tv.
No, you are wrong .. the most reality shows you mentioned.. like Pop Idols, Big Brother and Dancing with the stars were originated from the Netherlands.
It’s such a shame that NYC 22 was held so late in the season. If they could’ve thrown it on the air when UNFORGETTABLE or GIFTED MAN (which they know would likely be cancelled, I think it could’ve built a bigger following). Truth is that they started with over 8mm total audience and still pulled around 7mm in the last episode with little to no promotion. Hold it up against most of CBS drama and it’s technically and creatively a better show than most of what they put on the air. The audience would’ve come if the suits had given it a shot. Bad day for NY-based television shows. Why they traded a Richard Price gritty drama for something from the Greg Berlanti (with the same problem – no stars!) is questionable. Terry Kinney >Chi McBride.
I disagree. Unforgettable was a good show. Unfortunately networks this days does not give shows a chance because of ratings and Unforgettable ratings were not bad. Definitely will be missed.
i like most of the shows they are cancelling. gifted man, unforgetable, missing and i hate all the shows they are keeping. they take off the good stuff and keep the crappy shows
I agree!
Ah, CSI: Miami. The series that taught me that every inch of Miami looks as good as a picture postcard and everybody in the city is young and beautiful and lives in luxurious mansions. And to think TV critics — with their fancy book-leanrin’ and what-not — drone on about The Wire being a great crime drama. RIP, CSI: Miami,RIP.
I cannot believe that you are canceling CSI MIAMI. It is a awesome show. You need to get rid of the dumb comedy shows. I love all the CSI shows. I also like Blue Bloods,Blue Hawaii.GREAT SHOWS.
I love all the CSI’s too. I think Blue Bloods is great because Tom Selleck makes the show.
It wasn’t a great show but it was still better written than the dizzy eye rolling cliche.
Wish that were true, because “Unforgettable” had a workable premise (all that Marilu Henner retentive-mind stuff from the “60 Minutes” story). But what killed the show was indeed its numbingly bad writing. The stories were predictable, glacially slow to unfold, and only marginally involving….with the most trite and ham-fisted dialogue this side of NBC’s “The Firm.” Good riddance to both.
Tough news for a couple NY based crews.
Unforgettable was a great show from what I saw.
It’s just a shame that it aired this season when there were so many great shows on all networks that had to come first.
I’m really disappointed that Unforgettable & The Gifted Man is cancelled. I loved both of those shows
How has Blue Bloods not gotten cancelled? Way worse than Unforgettable, probably even Gifted Man.
you forget that blue bloods has a solid base with its character actors and the main actor tom selleck, selleck been around a long time and it shows in his acting ability along with rest of the cast and the show being cased around family of cops/lawyers is pretty interesting and top-off it off it airs on fri nights at 10pm thats no small feat for a show like this .
Blue Bloods does well internationally, so probably another reason why it is not getting the ax
Gifted Man and Unforgettable were trash. Can’t believe they lasted as long as they did.
I am really bummed about Unforgettable. USA , TBS or Lifetime please pick it up.
I think it would do well on Lifetime.
Started viewing UNFORGETTABLE late in the season and liked the two episodes I saw. Especially last week’s. Poppy Montgomery was excellent and believable. Good luck to the cast and crew who did a splendid first class job.
How true (I bet NBC hated it when “Chuck” fans rallied around it before trying to can it without a proper swansong), but I think you have to give US cable dramas some props too. I worked on NYC 22 twice as an extra, and it’s a bummer for the neighborhood where it was filmed.
It is indeed a tough day for those of us who work on television shows in NYC. The irony is that the one hit CBS show shooting in NYC, is The Good Wife–which is set in Chicago–and only shoots here because Juliana Margulies insisted.
sorry to see “Unforgettable” go. One of my fav.
The pilot for a “A Gifted Man” was pretty decent, it had the potential to be real good, but then the creative/corporate powers changed it to an average medical-working show — the show melted a slow death from there..
I am SO TIRED of the “suits” cancelling intelligent shows LIKE NYC 22. But they keep STUPID shows like Survivor, Apprentice, Bachelor/Bachelorette,etc. When is our society going to DEMAND that the “suits” quit dummying down television shows?? The “suits” do NOT want the average person to be intelligent…..am I the only one that is seeing this??
Unforgettable was one of my favorites, maybe another network will pick it up. good fit would be USA network.
I cannot believe that a show like NYC 22 has already been cancelled. Who puts a new show on Sunday night where it has to fight for ratings against C. Apprentice, Game of Thorns, etc. This was the best cop drama ever besides Southland. Well written, well acted and well produced. Why not move it to another night to replace these shows that were cancelled (thank goodness)???
Hope one of the cable networks pick it up.
Being a talent rep or PR rep in this world where an actor can go right to his or her Twitter feed for comment must be so much fun. Good luck on your next gig in television Patrick Wilson.
So why did you watch it, and why did you find it so important to make a comment…UNLESS your motives are ulterior. But of course!! Unforgettable was a great show and this is just another one in a long line of dumb moves network television pulls. It’s sickening because you can never trust a new show to be renewed anymore so why even watch whatever they come out with next? It’s pointless…
I liked Unforgettable and the Gifted Man. Hate to see them both go. If I had to choose between the two I would keep Unforgettable. Its was a new idea. Get better scripts. Hope its picked up somewhere else.
To the previous comment on the network “suits” “not wanting us to be intelligent.” Newsflash… the VAST MAJORITY of Americans are unintelligent. The networks give the public what they want; idiot based Reality TV like the garbage on MTV, FOX, ABC. NBC, and most of the cable networks. If the idiots in this country didn’t watch it, it wouldn’t be on.
It is the same people that strut around telling themselves and everyone else how great we are (as Americans) and how the rest of the world wishes they could be us… Newsflash… the rest of the world is laughing at US. Hopefully the day will come when we wake up out of our narcissistic slumber, but I fear that day will come after it’s too late. For all of US in the minority, hold on for the ride………………….
Loved the Gifted Man, also liked unforgetable, given a choice I would pick the gifted man. What a shame that stupid reality shows rule the networks. like the Kardashions, etc. Thats why we leave the major networks and watch movies, can’t compete with garbage.
I agree with u. I am surprised at all the “garbage” out there. I suppose whatever gets the ratings. I guess they forgot to ask some of us what shows we watch!
Last night my wife and I watched “NCIS”, “NCIS L. A.”, then CBS followed with that lame “48 Hours Mystery” instead of that great show “Unforgettable”, and we simply changed the channel to watch an only slightly better “Franklyn and Bash.” Why do the dumb networks cancell the best shows. Why not get rid of “2 1/2 Men”?
I’m usually the opposite. We love Brittish TV. Especially MI-5.
