VEGAS looks great… The others not so much!
totally.
Vegas looks good, Showtime or HBO good. Elementary and Partners also look like they’ll work.
I think Elementary looks fantastic. I love the actors, the idea of making Watson a female, and quite frankly it looks like it’ll be a really interesting, well written, and fun show to watch.
I sure hope it makes it!
Partners looks stupid.
They picked up the wrong show! CBS picked up the wrong pilot in Partners! I thought I would love it and I really don’t. That teaser annoyed me. it really did. I heard the Malins/Berlanti piulot was amazing! Wow! Partners just looks like it is NOT going to work – feels forced. i hope I’m wrong, I really like those actors. Huh…
Nope. Nothing for me here.
But CBS should do well with Elementary and Vegas, though they really should have stuck with Ralph Lamb as the title, or maybe Cowboys vs. Gangsters if they were feeling impish.
These do, indeed, appear to be a group of wonderfully creative, intelligent and entertaining shows, based upon the brief samples included here. Can’t wait to see the complete episodes. CBS programming group continue to attract top talent in front and behind the camera!
It’s great to sample fresh, new ideas planned for the coming season. Hope these shows live up to their promise!
Vegas and Elementary look great, but Partners is awful, it will bomb big time.
Didn’t want to like Vegas, but the cinematography is sharp. Feel like that one could implode with all of the personalities. Elementary will probably work for CBS, although definitely not excited about it. Partners looks fun. Good drama & comedy prospects for adults.
BUT Made In Jersey looks & feels like a 1-season show. More CW than CBS…plus, that opening line about the chipped manicure is ripped straight from Legally Blonde. Love that Felix Solis who was on the DeNiro rookie cop series.
This is no more of a “rip-off” than the BBC Sherlock is a rip-off of Conan Doyle Victorian character. It is a public domain character. And if you think CBS’s audience would tolerate for one second the BBC Sherlock’s “hip, cool” take on the detective genre, you are dreaming.
the rip off comment was about jersey girl you moron. Agree re: Vegas. What a generic and lackluster title. At least Ralph lamb was character driven.
You’re right. To call it a rip-off of the BBC Sherlock is just offensive to that series. And Doyle. And possibly, storytelling. Though I think part of what people are reacting to is that the BBC show feels authentic where as the CBS series is a kid dressed up for halloween. Hollow. Maybe I’m wrong, but I have no faith. Cumberbatch does blow that guy out of the water. That guy is just stupidly talented. It’s not even a fair comparison. Of course, it will clean up in the ratings because he’s CBS “british”.
Elementary, I don’t want sound like a hater but are you serious. Someone needs to draw a line in the sand when it comes to ripping off the Holmes character. Trying to mix it with a Criminal Minds feel is just offensive. I hate it when I’m right, come on!! Cumberbatch blows this show out of the water. What an utter load of s…t.
Jealous much?
Partners looked amazing! I honestly laughed out loud. Can’t wait to watch it!
See, now these CBS trailers look MUCH better than the Fox, NBC and ABC ones. I am not saying they will all be hits and the other networks products will all be garbage, but the quality of product seems much higher with the CBS product than the other guys.
Partners looks a little too Will & Grace (except Grace is now a guy and Jack moves to the lead role with Will as the boyfriend).
Elementary could be the new House (in the good way).
Not all of the trailers for NBC were full ones, I thought.
But yeah, these are good trailers. If nothing else, they look beautiful.
Hmmm. From the clips it looks like Michael Urie is the only one game on Partners.
The rest looks OK.
Everyone’s 2012 is looking better than NBC’s.
Partners looks like a disaster.
Partners and Made in Jersey, didn’t think i’d like the latter but after seeing the video CBS put , out of it it actually looks good. They know The Good Wife is on its way out, ratings wise, definitely not creatively anyway so they need another legal show, CBS is going to have a really strong year next year.
I doubt “The Good Wife” is on its way out. It’s different from other CBS shows, and it’s the only major network drama to have any success at the Emmys in recent years, so it’s definitely a prestige product. Besides, while the ratings aren’t great, they aren’t horrendous, and if need be, the network can always reshuffle its line up.
My only “thing” about Elementary is that it keeps Sherlock British. Why? Why not make him American? Otherwise it’s essentially “Sherlock Holmes: America. Like a CSI or Law & Order situation where you take a concept and supplant it to a new location. I just don’t get why they don’t make the character fit the location, but that’s just me. I’ll probably end up watching anyway.
There are more Brits living in New York than there are Americans living in plenty of small towns in the US. And because of his peculiar nature Sherlock Holmes is arguably “out of place” anywhere he is, even in London.
Partners looks awful not the least of which because Brandon Routh can’t act to save his life. Vegas I might check out only because I like the actors. The Jersey one and Sherlock one are definite passes.
I must confess that as a writer I was an early hater of Elementary. I do think there is a special circle of rewrite/development hell for any scribbler that would steal from the Brit incarnation of this show. That said, this version looks great, and oddly un-network which is to say smart. SO, maybe, just maybe, it may be worth selling your soul…nah, I doubt it…but I’ll watch.
Vegas looks like a winner. I might forgive Mangold for Knight & Day.
VEGAS looks pretty badass, almost like it should be on cable. Checking that out for sure.
all look good!!… CBS must be sticking to their older demo core.
Elementry looks like the character oddity of Monk and dramatic/crime story quality of The Mentalist, so it should be quite easy to hold the Mentalists Thrusday viewers.
I agree w/martin CBS is looking for a “Wife” replacement in “Jersey”.
Partners looks like it will fit the bill on Mondays w/Broke & Mother. while 2men approach the end of the road on Thursdays.
I believe the only reason 2men was renewed is because WBTV needed the eps to forfill Syndie contracts that were signed/promised before sheen was let go. i bet when the ashton eps hit syndie they will NOT be well received with the rest of the inventory of eps. bet some larger stations will even try to pre-empt waldon.
Partners is terrible and doesn’t belong on CBS. First cancellation of the season.
Elementary has unlikable characters and an unlikable cast. Lucy Liu is a ridiculously bad choice. Total waste of a key time slot.
Vegas has potential. Jersey is nothing special.
The returning shows will have to carry the ball for CBS, who will struggle more on Mondays by moving 2 1/2 Men and Thursdays with moving Mentalist. Rules of Engagement and Unforgettable would have done better than any of the new shows.
@Todd – spot on.
Vegas looks good, Partners looks awful, Made in Jersey is ok but not my type and Elementary is hit or miss. Johnny Lee Miller will pull it off but Lucy Liu might ruin it, she can’t act and was already beyond annoying in these few scenes.
Elementary and Made in Jersey will stay. The others will not last past 1 season.
Man this will be the worst dramas season. This will be the bottom. From 3-4 years dramas are in bad shape but this time they will hit the bottom. Most of the trailers are so boring, so terrible that i even can’t finish them. Outside revolution and probably nashville everything else is awful. Period. CBS 10pm dramas can survive (if survive) only because are with little or no competition. At least revolution can turn out next lost!
