AFTER EVERYTHING CAA HAS DONE FOR HIM?!?!?! Didn’t CAA Talent Scouts discover him doing Community Theater in Wyoming?? HOW UNGRATEFUL!!!
I’m pretty sure that whoever discovered him did so in the on-set-sandbox while dear old dad Tom was busy working. Please don’t confuse “discover” with “nepotism.”
what is wrong with all of you that you could think Indrid was serious? lay off the obtuse pills.
LOL @ “discovered.”
You don’t “discover” the son of Tom Hanks, Indrid. I like Colin, but it’s pretty clear he’d still be doing community theater if not for his famous parent.
I doubt CAA “discovered” him doing community theater in Wyoming. I’m pretty sure they “discovered” him when his father, Tom Hanks, came in and said, “do me a favor and represent my son.”
Hahahahahahaha
LOL at ^this^ guy. The kid is Tom Hanks’ son. The only one who can take credit for “discovering” him is the Hanks family OBGYN.
Awesome, can’t wait to catch the next Colin Hanks vehicle. (yes, I’m joking)
Way to go buddy!!!!! Big win for the team!

The only half way decent film Colin has been in is ORANGE COUNTY… and it was really Jack Black and the other surrounding actors who made that work. He wasn’t bad in it. But unfortunately the leaves fall far from the Hanks tree as he’s not near the actor of his father or have the comedic chops of a young Tom Hanks. Colin is just kind of bland. He’s just coasting on his papa’s name.
The Malkovich film kind of sucked. And the serial killer film he was in, while I haven’t seen it, basically went straight-to-video, right (very small release, didn’t sound like anything to write home about).
Maybe he should try stepping behind the camera.
He was also boring as hell on Dexter.
He was excellent in “33 Variations” on Broadway. And used really, really well on “Mad Men” – prominently featured in one of the very best episodes. Will he become Tom Hanks? Probably not. But he can have a career – no problem. And everybody knows that agents line up to interview children of stars not the least of which because a.) the apple doesn’t necessarily fall from the tree (although that lightning in a bottle is rare) and b.)the connotations that a famous name novice can bring to a part can give the narrative experience an unconscious jolt. What happens to Tippi Hedren in “The Birds” or “Marnie” and Melanie Griffith in Arthur Penn’s “Night Moves” or DePalma’s “Body Double” – are they different? – I respectfully submit : not necessarily.
Regarding Colin Hanks there’s a basic like-ability there that you can exploit (“33 Variations”) or play against or with which is what “Mad Men” did. And it’s different than the father’s – a little more subtle style frankly, a little less busy.
I sympathize with stars, any star, in this regard. Tough and unique circumstances in which to raise a child. Nobody slams you if you want to be a doctor or a lawyer or a cop or a fireman because a parent is.
