EXCLUSIVE: Elisabeth Hasselbeck has signed with WME, where Jim Ornstein will handle The View co-host’s representation. Hasselback had been with Babette Perry at IMG, but sources say the former Survivor contestant had become unhappy with the way negotiations with ABC were being handled and decided it was time for a change. Hasselbeck’s husband, former NFL quarterback and ESPN analyst Tim Hasselbeck, is already signed with Ornstein. Hasseback has been on The View since 2003. Ornstein recently saw Live! With Kelly host Kelly Ripa leave WME for CAA.

Good for Jim. He obviously knows how to negotiate against Disney/ABC, having raised Kelly’s salary from 900K to several million over the years, as well as just having finished Whoopi’s renegotiation for The View!
Oh, please. The agent in these things has so little bearing it hardly matters who you have. K. Ripa’s price went up b/c she found herself in a position to demand more money despite being the most annoying, self-centered, me-me-me-me personality on daytime TV. Hasselbeck will get what the token Republican on an annoying daytime show should get. Sorry Daytime TV agents.
Republican
He’s an agent for Whoopi Goldberg and for Elisabeth Hasselbeck… so he has 2/5ths of The View (and half of ESPN between Tim and his other pro athletes/coaches). Sounds like a busy guy.
She’s embarrassing. Can’t even memorize those faxes from the right-wing ‘think tanks’ convincingly.
jim cannot retain clients.
like who?
She is an idiot no matter who represents her.
He had Kelly Ripa for 10 years…until Bryan Lourd offered to sign her husband!
Then why did Elisabeth fire her current (former) agent for mishandling the negotiations? Some agents will be content to close a negotiation to secure their commission…even if they haven’t gotten the most/the best for their client.
Probably because like a lot of undersmart, overpaid people, she doesn’t have any idea whether it’s being handled poorly or well. She’s just not getting what she thinks she should. She’ll find out quickly what her value is.
Hasselbeck is one of the most stupid, obnoxious ‘personalities’ on TV. That she gets any kind of air time is depressing.
She is so vacuous, the only surprising thing about her is that she didn’t get famous through a sex tape.
She should thank any agent for getting her any job anywhere.
Something is shifting on The View this season and it is not good. The show was not nominated for some 2012 Emmy Awards, Talk Show Host and Hair to name a few.
Barbara and Bill seem to be giving Elizabeth ALOT more mouth time and sticking everyone else into the background. I believe that Elizabeth is dragging the show down now. It seems to be getting worse by the day. Barbara gets a little edgy whenever the other hosts try to say anything. Elizabeth is definitely kissing somone’s behind very hard and it shows on camera now.
Barbara and Bill are in effect allowing the demise of their show and all courtesy of Elizabeth Hasselbeck. Letting Elizabeth have control and Joy has been there the entire run of the show, not Elizabeth. Doesn’t seniority count for something Barbara and Bill?
Thank you for bringing this up. I’ve noticed over the past year that Barbara is extremely edgy. If Whoopi expresses an opinion, Barbara will invariably pipe up, interrupt, and opine, opine, opine. I’ve noticed Whoopi shutting down on a number of occasions. When Barbara isn’t there, the show definitely sparkles in comparison.
Yes, Elizabeth is vaccuous and superficial a lot of the time but she has broadened her view since she arrived. It’s not her opinions and pronouncements that bother me as much as Barbara playing defacto school marm. There definitely is tension there. And it makes for unpleasant viewing.
I like Elizabeth and everyone on the show except Joy who usually is rather rude. I will say this though, Joy’s CNN show seemed to have gotten better ratings than Piers.
I loved the View until Elisabeth Hasselbeck & only watch a clip once in a while.
She’s just a mean immature girl most of the time, with Barbara trying to protect & school her even after all this time.
Jim’s a class act. Good for him.
Jim has worked hard up the agent ladder…a good guy indeed.
