Jake is back to form, and Ortenberg/Open Road have a contender.
He looks good in the trailer and I’m definitely watching this.
Ayer and Jake should get Emmys for sure. This is the best SOUTHLAND episode of the year!!!! Need more Hatosy in it though!
LOL My thoughts exactly. 5 seconds in I was thinking: Ooh, looks like a good episode of ‘Southland’.
It looks great!
Always looking forward to pretty much anything Ayer does.
wow, good clip. looks tough and intense.
CANNOT wait for this movie. Counting down the days.
I’m in. Good for Ayer.
Can’t wait for Jarhead 2!!!
I guess you need a new and ostensibly gritty police drama every few years.
Oh god is this another addition to the found footage slush pile? Someone make it stop please.
Anyone else long for the good ole’ days when films were, you know, actually shot and lit properly? In something besides the vomit cam, puke filter look?
There’s way more shitty films that are well lit and classically shot. I think footage films get a bad wrap because of the recent deluge of crappy projects. But the people behind those films didn’t know what they were doing. Ayers is a proven director and visionary who knows how to tell compelling gritty stories. Imagine if Tarantino made one!? So, give him a chance. Also, the show Cops is 20 years old, so this narrative of following cops with cameras is nothing new.
looks very good, although the ‘you’re like my brother’ is done twice in the trailer alone
I prefer the television show. It’s called Southland.
But you haven’t even seen it yet?!
love Southland…
…but this looks good.
Looks like a movie version of TNT’s Southland which is not a bad thing.
I find Jake Gyllenhaal’s career very interesting. He seems to be trying to appeal to every demographic: male-oriented action movies (Jarhead, Source Code, The Day After Tomorrow, Prince of Persia, End of Watch), female-oriented romances (The Good Girl, Love & Other Drugs), the indie crowd (Donnie Darko, Brokeback Mountain, Zodiac, Brothers). And he does stuff like that Man vs Wild episode in Iceland or that music video clip where he plays a serial killer. It’s a very smart career so far. I’m impressed.
Except nobody wants to see him and Hollywood is not getting it . Why waste good roles on boring, uncharismatic actors?
I want to see him. He comes across as a funny, smart and genuinely nice guy.
Why waste good roles on boring, uncharismatic actors like Channing Tatum,Taylor Kitch,Rob Pattinson or Ryan Renolds?
You can say the same thing”nobody wants to see Channing wooden Tatum” a year ago, now see what happened …
Jake is a very good actor and I think this movie looks promising.
In for sure. I might even spend $17 to see it!
I prefer the television show. It’s called Reno 911.
can’t wait to watch it
