ABC News has finalized its lineup for the nine-week run of Good Afternoon America, the one-hour extension of Good Morning America that will run nine weeks beginning July 9. Josh Elliott and Lara Spencer will co-anchor the show, which Deadline first told you about back in April. It will act as a bridge between the end of the run of the freshman daytime series The Revolution (it was cancelled) and the start of the syndicated Katie Couric talk show Katie on September 10. For the GMA extension, the network said Sam Champion, Robin Roberts, and George Stephanopoulos will join in with special appearances on a show expected to be generally broader and lighter than the regular GMA; it “will feature the most-talked about celebrities, performances by the biggest names in the music industry, the latest pop culture news plus” among other things, ABC said.

I agree with you. Lara is horrible on the show, everything is funny with her, she laughs too much. I think she has a crush on Josh. I feel sorry for him.

If katie fails, and looking as if it actually will fail, then maybe they can put this show in a later time slot but there’s no guarantee that GAA will be successful as it’s getting to a point of over-exposure as it is. We shall see though but this concept sounds like ET extended to an hour.
This show and Katie Couric’s show sound the same as the hours and hours of daytime talk already on. The hosts are different but the gossip is all the same. There are more celebrity “news” shows than there is celebrity news. I won’t be watching.
No matter what type of talk show …. it better than those discussing soap’s / or shopping crap … so much brainwashing .

Won’t be watching..need another show like this like a nail in the head. I boycott ABC/Disney and only watch GH. This show and Katie’s will go down…soap fans will not be watching and we already sunk the Revulsion..and are sinking the Spew!
More like GOOD GRIEF, AMERICA!!!!! I hope this show fails worse than The Revolution did. Why hasn’t ABC listened to the fans and brought One Life to Live back? At least we are enjoying OLTL characters like Starr, Todd and McBain on General Hospital. We fans worked really hard to keep that show on the air. ABC is doing badly in the ratings because of the hatchet job Brian Frons did on their daytime lineup last year. There is only one solution to this problem: Bring back the soaps! Daytime just hasn’t been the same since Agnes Nixon’s 2 great shows were canceled. There is no reason ABC cannot correct this mistake and bring soap fans back.

New-school “GMA” already sucks because Lara rejoined the show. New-school “GMA” & “GAA”=a stupid crude joke that ABC/Disney thought they could get away with.
If ratings will be high, they’ll still lose the respect of many, many, many viewers.
I’m really disappointed in the GMA Afternoon show. I get enough of Lara on the morning show. She does too much poising and sticking out her legs, and I can’t stand her voice. She is not serious and is always laughing. They should get someone more classy. Josh is great but I feel sorry for him.
I feel bad for Robin and George; Josh and Lara have turned GMA into a comedy show. Lara’s love affair with herself and the camera have ruined her credibility, and Josh is just an overgrown kid.

Sorry GMA! Lara Spencer is an annoying at reporting. She comes across as staged, she interrupts often when others are speaking just to add in a silly comment; she seems to repeat what her seasoned colleagues do or say, always puts in her extra comment riding on someone’s commentary when it is not needed, in other words, not her own style.
She would better serve the lack substance celebrity gossip where she came from.
