HBO will return for a seventh season of its NFL training camp series Hard Knocks on August 7 featuring the Miami Dolphins, a year after the network scrapped the Emmy-winning documentary series because of the NFL lockout. ESPN reported that the Atlanta Falcons and New York Jets were also mentioned as possible teams to be profiled; in 2010, the Jets’ season on the show earned HBO three Sports Emmys. Five hourlong episodes are planned for the show, co-produced with NFL Films. It’s a logical move for the Dolphins, whose ownership group is trying to drum up fan interest in a mediocre team. Owner Stephen Ross has brought in celebrities like Gloria Estefan and Venus and Serena Williams as minority owners, and the team has a red-carpet entrance to the team’s Sun Life Stadium for celebrities attending games.

What a missed opportunity not covering the Tebow move…
This looks like next Fall’s must-miss series.
Whatever. HBO/NFL films could do their 24/7 style on grass growing, or paint drying and myself and a few million other people would watch it.
Further more this is the NFL, the entire fanbase can’t get enough of this stuff. Would the Jets have been better? Yes, but they’ve been on it and this will still be great to watch.
I’m a die-hard Dolphins fan and let’s face it, we seriously need to repair our tarnished reputation left from the Sparano and Ireland fools (yes, I know Ireland is still there) but with a new coach and focus, MAYBE we can finally make it to the play-offs and actually advance some for the first time in so long. We need all the kind words and fans we can get right now.
And keep the damn celebrities out of the football business as they’re nothing more than distractions.
They did approach the jets. The Jets turned them down.
One of the smart moves the Jets made recently was turning down “Hard Knocks”. Training camp will be a circus as it is, with Mr. T. in the house.
Shoulda been The Rams. There’s some drama.
What about New Orleans losing their coach. That would’ve been great to follow.
Thia is the year the Dolphins rurn it around and really shock everyone. Go Dolphins! !!!!!!!!!!
They should have done it on the team that prettt much made the NFL. The Chicago Bears! The most traditional team in the league
chicago might of helped make the nfl but they are the chicago cubs of the nfl and we already know how this story turns out.
Hard knocks featuring the Dolphins are going to be great for dolphin fans and football fans. A desperate franchise will be seen as it it tries to avoid another mediocre season. New additions like Chad Ochocinco and quarterback David Garrard will be highlighted as a quarterback controversy unfolds and an aged wide receiver in Ochocinco will scrutinize performances in camp. A behind the scene look as a promising team with the likes of Reggie Bush and company train and try to become a formidable team who’s ultimate goal is to become a playoff contender come winter. Hard knocks is always a compelling look into the closet of NFL teams
The beauty of hard knocks is that fans and foes alike can gain a heightened sense of respect for the team shown. As a die hard fins fan I can’t wait to see the HBO interpretation of the Dolphins from the inside…and MAYBE get some answers to a few coach/quarterback/front office questions I have. Nonetheless, go Fins!!!
Shoulda been colts or denver with Peyton manning
